Ray are you watering that yellow side a bunch more because of the sun? It looks saturated and may not be draining as well

    Ok guys
Under the truck doing oil change greasing DS and stuff discovered this BF11478C-BE75-4102-8A19-4934489F3F05.jpg am I correct thinking it just needs a new boot??

If so can someone help me with replacement? I’m a little mechanically inclined but some help and guidance would be much appreciated :D

Right side has shade and is relatively flat, or at least evenly sloped. Left side has full exposure and is pretty steep in both directions (which makes it a bitch to evenly water). Could be crappy soil prep too, especially given where it is (a 'trash corner' in construction). It also looks like where a neighbor (or previous owner?) dog or dogs goes to the bathroom. You're not cutting it too short, and it is a *little* early yet, so it may green up evenly. Are both size on the same irrigation zone? If so to get the left side reasonably watered the right side is going to get over watered and will always be greener (unless the heads are different on the two sides). I'm not sure of the orientation of things, but stuff like that can also be caused by vehicles parked on the street if heat/sun reflection is right.

Cool info. Thanks bud. Different zone, but same timing on the system. 14 mins is what I'm running. The system choses the watering days on it's own depending on the weather info it recives from DIA. Your correct on it's location and angles of the yard. No dogs. My street is less traveled buy people. Neighor is a old lady that sticks to herself that I never see. Soil is a sandy loom. Never added any topsoil to help. No cars parked on that side because it's where the mail boxes are and is a to small section of a curb for cars.

Clean it. Wrap it with duck tape to hold you by until you can replace it. It's not fully torn. Just a hole.

Yeah, sounds like you would need a new one. If you poke at it and more grease comes out or it looks like there are grease droplets sprayed inside your wheel well you can be certain

Try and have the hole on top to see if that helps keep the grease in until you wrap it.

Got it all fitted in there, now preparing to weld in some bracing (try and unfuck that slight warp). Then gotta drill an access hole for the oil drain under the engine.

Lots of room underneath, might be able to utilize the radiant heat from the cats for an ez bake oven of sorts, make some tranny taco's...
