I have chrome driving lights that I am going to get either powder coated, Line-X'd or painted black.

Which process would be the best to go with? Any tips?

BTW the N Fab Light Bar is Line-X'd

    Pics of lights.

I was thinking I would do paint because it would be cheaper but not sure how paint will hold up on chrome.

Any one have experience on with painting chrome?

Do it once, do it right the first time! Line X Xtra!

For most small stuff, you can usually just drop it off and they will just spray them whenever they are doing a larger job with the same spray you need. Might take a week or two before you get them back but is way more cost effective!

bone stock save for the block lift that came on it with the open country m/t.
like Oswego said, DIY. very easy, just take your time and do it right. I blacked out my chrome bumper and all it took was time and about $10 worth of supplies. AND........you get the satisfaction that you did it yourself. :)

I would leave it, but if you want to black it out, I would Line X it. Since you already have some Line X already.

So I went to 2 local powder coating shops today...The first one I went to said no problem, can do all 4 for $50.00. This is the shop minimum. He said they powder coat chrome all the time for the Harley guys and never have any problems with chipping.

Went to the second shop and the guy tells me he can't powder coat chrome. The chrome would need to be removed first before he would powder coat them.

Tomorrow I am going to stop by the Line-X shop to get a qoute but after taking the lights apart I am not sure if the Line-X will be too thick when i put them back together.

    Just an update...

I went to the Line-X shop to get a quote. They wanted $80 for all 4 which was too high for me.

I dropped them off at the powder coater, should be done on Monday. All 4 will be done for $50. I am getting them coated with the "wrinkle" finish so they will have some texture like Line-X

Got the chrome trim rings powder coated. They turned out great! The wrinkle powder coat texture looks very similar to Line-X

Not sure if I like the 4 lights. Will probably convert my light bar to hold 3 and center them within the grille.
