3 inch, or so, lift and larger tires, what floor jack and jack stands should I get? I do oil changes, tire rotations, suspension (as it turns out...lol).

12 ton jack stands from Harbor Freight (plenty of height an very sturdy). I am using a three tone Craftsman jack. The Craftsman stands are too short.

Get the aluminum one, its so much lighter : here’s a 25% off coupon for jack stands(?) that works on your phone - good only on Mothers day:

^ you can't use that on floor jacks or anything most people would go for. Fine print cuts out most large tools

:homer: Doh! Ok, jack stands maybe? The floor jacks do go on sale often though, the steel one usually every month it seems.

How high does the Costco one go, the Daytona goes 23" and some...as a side note I love the "warning signs." LOL, come on man, your are lifting a vehicle and you don't think it could be dangerous if not done with some caution?

Any idea on how this one compares with the 3ton HF jack in size/ weight / cost / lift height?

Last time I used something from Harbor Freight I needed to go to the ER.. Felt like Tim from Home Improvement.

The Daytona jack will do just fine, so far i have been utilizing a HF 3 ton low profile jack and 6 ton jack stands. This combo has been budget friendly and well worth the money.
However, ive had had the chance to use the Daytona pro series for a little while now and that extra 4 inches of lift is quite useful. I still use a block of wood to help out with extra height for jacking up most of these Tacomas.

I have at least a 3" but I also use a 6" x 6" x 12" block and lift from the frame. I just don't feel good about a Harbor Freight jack. The HF jack stands are really solid though.

Realistically, their merchandise has to be used like any other tool- very carefully. I wouldnt suggest using them commercially or in a professional shop, however for home workshops its worth it. Ive built museum display cases and cabinets out of oak with their saws, used their jacks for years without issues.

if you need a jack for an oil change . . . I always use some wood when I worked on lifted vehicles.

Well, if you want quality, just get a Hein-Werner jack and be done with it...
