So what are your thoughts so far? Sounds like you def ramped up pretty fast in it...Granted I know its still pretty early for a review.

 

It's definitely different (which isn't a bad thing). There are plenty of things to go after which is what I wanted. Got the Exotic Sword today and some really cool weapons that I have to go through and figure out which ones are the best for PvE and PvP. Still have a long way to go and a lot to discover. So far so good.

 

Cimson catalyst dropped for me 1st mission. I'm almost done with that, taking forever. It'll have near max range when it's unlocked.

Dropped the Huckleberry and ornament today, that thing has some potential.

I watched a graviton Lance kill 2 guys in pvp, one was killed just by the purple things. That gun is gross and if you add that new Hunter helmet with arc strider and antiope, you're a god in pvp

 

Borealis Masterwork complete. Required shooting 150 of each. Void, Arc, and Solar. This thing is a beast. Working on Crimson right now and the Sleeper Simulant quest.

Sitting at 355 right now. Could be 357 but it would be with weapons that don't really go together very well.

 

It was actually pretty easy. Just run up to the Levithan and kill the guys out front and rinse and repeat. Took about an hour.

 

I've tried to use the Graviton Lance but (so far) I suck with it for some reason. We ran a bunch of private matches and I just couldn't get the feel for it. When I did get a kill with it, it is a beast. I just need to get used to it. Ended up going back to The Darkest Before, Silicon Neuroma to snipe, and the Antiope-D

 

And just to be a dick... I would break out The Colony to troll my friends lol. I really wish they would take that weapon out of PvP as it requires no skill to use.

 

Worldline Zero has stupid range when sprinting. Best exotic sword so far in D1 or D2

 

Crimson masterwork nearly has full range, dirty gun in CQB. Huckleberry is great fun in pve, just doesn't stop shooting against thrall.

I got the tractor catalyst, haven't started it.

Running prestige nf for the risk runner catalyst. That gun in pvp and pve is just great. That extra arc protection is needed on canal that shoot acruis shots.

I'll run time worn spire / risk runner in trials this weekend. It's my current fav setup


Oh,wormhusk helm is stupid good in pvp. Say hello to the new meta for hunters.

 

So anyone feeling an extra slow grind or just starting, watch dattos video on leveling. The raids drop a shit ton of higher gear and it is so much easier (even prestige)

The DARCI hits calus for 100k and you have 22 shots that can go fast. Single phase calus wipes.

Don't start with prestige, just do normal than prestige.

 

That was the intent this time around. They slowed everything down which is fine by me. I can hit 360 now but my weapons don't match or make any kind of sense to use together so in reality I'm around 355 - 356 depending on which load out I'm using. If you think the leveling is slow now just wait until 370 rolls around. From what they said, it will take just as long to get to the max cap as it did from 335 to 370.

This time around there is no "easy" farming way to get to higher level and that is fine by me. I love reading all the internet crying going on the Bungie forums from the casuals about the game being too hard. "But... I can't level as fast and there are no more clan engrams from Trials or the Raid". Boo fucking Hoo. Just enjoy the game. It isn't a race and you can still complete most of the activities without much problem. I've personally come to quite a standstill myself since I've completed the raids on all my characters so I've gotten the highest power level that I can achieve at the moment and I'm good with that. I would run Trials this week but it is Chest / Helmet week IIRC and not many are interested in Trials this week so that's fine. My only criticism of the game is they didn't change the look of the Trials Armor set and there really is only one good weapon to go after which is the new scout.

I've masterworked the DARCI and the Borealis and both are fun to use. I've almost quit using Rocket Launchers altogether which is perfect since I love sniping.

 

The one thing I really like about this expansion is there are a lot of things for me to chase after. That is all I was asking for and they delivered on that.

 

I can tell you right now that the NF is a shit ton easier than the Heroic Strikes at lower levels. The Heroic Strikes have modifiers on them now and they are a bitch when your first starting out. The NF is a cake walk since they didn't raise the power level.

 

No way man you havnt done any nightballz? Shit that’s how you get the gear...or atleast when I played.

 

I can't get passed 67% on strikes for the weekly, even after doing what bungo suggests.

Just wasted so many runs for nothing. I'm not even gonna touch the sleeper quest until this shit is fixed.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Ran 5 strikes yesterday and got credit for 2 for the sleeper quest. If you notice when you are in orbit it comes up like normal with Vanguard Heroic Strikes but if you sit there too long it will actually change the name to the strike you are going to be running. If that happens you will not get credit for the strike. So you have to be quick and launch before the name change. But I'm like you... I'm not going to do them until they fix it.

 

You get anything good out of trials? I'm wanting the scout rifle. Starting this next week we are going to start our climb to the claymore.

 

It's a level based system now, need level 15 to get the new scout. Armors are the same, no ornaments.
The sparrow, ship and exotic ghost are for the different platforms, exotic being the flawless.

So crazy to not see the risk runner in the top 10, no one aping. Everyone wants to lane or hide in the caves/rocks and look into the center this week.

That graviton is even worse than the VW. Pair it with the antiope and that's the meta. Well that and the wormhusk helm, that helm will get nerfed, I'm sure of it.

I run that helm but I stuck with Time Worn/ risk runner. I can't win a cross map battle, but I don't hide. I'm going full ape with the guys I run with.
