If i had more money, id have lots and lots of nice watches, i love a good watch. But my money situation isnt as good as others, so i buy the ones i can afford. I dont down anyone for spending their own money on things they want, hence their money on their stuff, um duh, lol. I eventually will start to save to buy me a well hand crafted watch that is more than my budget, but for now, i will use my fossil’s and my seiko’s which work perfectly fine for what i need them for. But i agree with you, to each their own, and ill show all of mine off in anyone asks, and if not then i will wear them as needed, lol

Casio 5600. Worn it every day for about 6 years now. Never replaced the battery, keeps excellent time and super simple. Durable as hell too.

Very nice. I have always wanted a Rolex like this, I really like stainless. Years back I worked in the oil field with a guy who wore a Rolex every day. He beat the hell out of it and didn't blink an eye, and it never stopped working. It was always covered in pipeline drip or moly grease, he would open and close hammer unions without removing it... Even the lens stayed somewhat clear, considering the abuse he put it through. He cleaned it every day after his shift... with automotive brake cleaner. I can't believe how tough these watches are. I guess you really do get what you pay for. I wish I could remember the model he wore, part of the bracelet was gold. The guy claimed it was "good luck" since it was his father's, I guess it was, he never lost a finger or broke a bone as long as I worked with him.

Wow! Thats a great story! I believe someone earlier on this thread had a family member that was a diver for the Navy- wore the Submariner every day.

Right now, stainless rolex sport models are in high demand. The green “hulk” like mine sell for MORE than retail on the grey market- and most pre-owned green submariners also sell for more than retail.

    Good luck!

Another Casio for my "Dress" watch or when I want a lower profile if I've got multiple layers of long sleeve shirts (it gets cold here in Maine :D ).

The SS Professional Rolex watches really are tough and reliable. They're still built to perform in each of their respective fields. For example, probably 99.9% of DSSD owners will never take their watch down to 12800 feet, but Rolex tested it to that depth rating before it ever left the factory. I'm sure they turn out a lemon or two every now and then, but with a five year warranty, and excellent customer service (based on personal experience) any problems can be made right.

Seiko makes many awesome watches. Try tracking down a Prospex SLA017! The watches from the Grand Seiko collection have an impeccable fit and finish in addition to the astounding accuracy of their Spring Drive movements.

The dial on that Casio is awesome! Here's my made-in-Japan G-Shock:

I "think" that video was posted earlier in this thread. The Grand Seiko is no doubt a beautiful, extremely well crafted watch, with very few equals. "My" main issue is that is says Seiko on it. Call me a snob if you like. As nice as that watch is I "personally" would never pay that amount of money for a watch that you can go to Walmart and buy with the same name. I think that is the biggest downfall of that watch personally in my opinion. If they would have just put a different name on it rather than Seiko would make all the difference in the world to me. I realize that I will get a lot of push back from my statement but I still stand by it. It's like I mentioned earlier before... If they put the name Chevette on a Corvette not many people would buy it just because of the name alone no matter how good the car is.
