So here is an explanation of what I'm experiencing.

I'm running the 104 87 octane tune on my '18 Sport. Here's the issue. I noticed that when I shifted out of first into second the truck would buck(small hicup) when accelerating. I decided to test if I could get the same symptom to occur in first gear. So with the truck in first gear and off the clutch and creeping along at just above 1,000 rpm I would do a full acceleration run to around 5,500 rpm. What I noticed was that the power output was not linear. It would accelerate slower from 1k say to 2k then after 2k it would accelerate strong to around 3k. Acceleration would then slow between 3k and 4k then pick up again. You would have this acceleration burst about three time from 1k to redline. The truck accelerates fine and it's quick but not linear in power delivery. My rpms that I reported are approx. because it's impossible to give and exact number because the rpms climb quickly. I notice it as well in second but not as bad and I suspect it's becuase of the higher gear ratio. Third I can't feel it. Under normal accelleration there isn't an issue.

I decided the flash back to the stock tune and try the same test. I felt the same with the stock tune as with the 104. I flashed back to the 104 and will put some miles on it and see if it improves.

Are you turning traction control off? Pretty sure it will be limiting throttle in 1st gear with hard acceleration.

Tried it this morning. In a rolling stop, 2nd gear acceleration from 500 rpm was slow until 1500 rpm when the power snapped to. Kinda dead from 500-1500 in 2nd.

    91 tune

I started all this because I'm getting a jerky jerky from 1st to second. Driving normal I shift from first to second clutch is out and as soon as I get back on the accelerator I get one or two jerk jerks then it accelerates normal. This happens when the rpms are around 1500 and not every time. If I hold first gear longer so the second shifts are above 2,000 rpm no jerky jerky.

A log would be most helpful but I'm 99% certain it's from VVT. The very low RPM range the intake VVT can go from complete retard (a lot of negative degree) to full advance, which is a huge sweep which if I recall correctly is a difference of 80 degrees. I figure most people aren't going to be flooring it right off idle so they would benefit from the additional intake retard for better mpg

I've only put 100 miles on the new 104 tune. But I'm liking every bid of of it. The annoying chirping of the intake at 2,500 rpms is gone, along with what others have posted. Thanks

This makes sense, but is this part of the operating soft ware adjustable or removable .?
I to find the lack of power in the lower end very annoying.

Witch brings us to full OTTO .
    Is this on the table?
While I am a staunch aponant of DFCO and REV HANG I am now leaning toward this feature.

I am finding as time passes with this project people are becoming more interested in power and driveability than fuel savings.
Especialy with the recent interest in your turbo project.

I should clarify, this isn't flooring it. It happens when driving normally.

So just after you release the clutch on an upshift to second and the RPM falls to 1500 - you feed the gas normally and get a "ruh ruh" response and then normal acceleration?
I don't think my truck has done this on 1.04, but it definitely would stock. Maybe a 87 file or '18 thing?

No “ruh-ruh” with mine when it has happened just a dead spot in acceleration. No matter how much skinny pedal you give it. I am blaming it on stability control and or traction control killing the throttle.

I just did this test and it is there .
    Like a double lag.
It is just how you explained it from 1st then little in second.

Yes you described it perfectly. I flash to stock at it was there then reflashed to 104 and still there. When I was running the 103's I did have it happen. I think I may reflash to 103 and see if it persists.

I used the truck tonight and had my wife with me and see felt it as well. Also noticed it when pulling into my parents driveway in first gear, low rpms and it did the jerk jerk climbing a slight grade.

Your running the 104? Did you have the same thing with the 103 tunes?

On mine it was really bad with the 1.03 tunes. It is significantly better on 1.04

if someone wants to run through about 3-5 files with logging to dial in OTTO only on the cams, let me know and we can create a tune for it. Will it be well received ? I don't think so.
I'll add the changes to the driver demanded torque tables too on top.
