Does anybody have any Info on the Recall on the Frame of a 2004 Taco. I purchased a Used 2004 Taco in Jan. 2018. When the Safety on this truck was done, I was able to be Under the Truck with the Mechanic, looking it over with him. Neither one of us seen Any Cracks, and or Rot, there was the Typical Rust that a 14 year Old Truck would have, but No holes or Cracks. Over the weekend I have found a Big Hole, on the frame, in the Rear, where the Leaf Spring, meets the Frame.
I have heard a few things about Toyota Replacing the Frames on these Trucks, Or Buying them back. Does anyone know any Info on this?, and If so, any Advice on how to go about this? Should I take it to a Dealer, OR is this something that I have to take up with Toyota's Corporate Office....ANY Advice on this would be greatly Appreciated.

There is a pile of threads and info around here. I'll try to find one in a minute.

I do have to say though that your safety guy let you down. You don't go from 'normal' to holes in 3 months. The frame should have be beat on with a ball peen, probed with a pry bar, and internally viewed with a borescope. Before you bought it. :(

    EDIT: Here you go.

Type 'frame replacement' in the search box in the upper right. You'll get lots of stories. Here is a sample that should get you started.

Thank You, I have not been able to find a Thread that is giving me the Info that I'm Looking for...I have read that, Toyota had a 10 year Recall...Then I have also read something about Toyota Extending it to 15 years. My truck was Originally Purchased In Ohio, then it moved to Canada. I'm curious to find out "IF" that will make a difference in My Issue...I am New to this Forum, and am having some Difficulty in Navigating it.....Any help would be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You!

Click the last line in my post and it will take you to a thread on topic. Same year truck as your's, post made this month, so it's current.

Nutshell. 1st thing to do is take it to a dealer.
