So, my dad had to move my truck yesterday when shuffling our vehicles around the driveway. I habitually set the parking brake. My dad had a brain fart, thought that my truck had a handle that you pull to release the parking brake. It was dark out and he was a bit tired, so he pulled the little storage cubby and stretched the spring mechanisms...





I happened to be bringing the Tacoma to Butch's for an estimate on the damage from the "Prius incident" about a week ago, and Butch determined that the little spring-loaded things are going to need replacement. Luckily, he was able to get the damn thing to stay shut for the time being, as seen in the photo...

I tell you, the weirdest and most random things on my truck tend to break or get broken!

 

Also, $950 to fix the damage from the aforementioned "Prius incident," which isn't bad!

 

Two newer Lennox heat pumps, with a 1980s Trane/GE heat pump hidden between them, at a commercial building...

 

1993 Payne straight-cool A/C unit at the same property...

 

Two Carrier units at a commercial building; I think they are heat pumps but not entirely sure...

 

They cut a section out of this old house to make room for more parking when it was rezoned commercial...

 

Doylestown Borough has at least three of these 2006-2007 GMC Sierra HDs, two Duramax diesels and one gasser (one diesel and the gasser seen in this photo), and they were all ordered WITHOUT air-conditioning!

This turd of a heat pump replaced a 1983 General Electric Weathertron heat pump in June 2011, when the compressor in the GE failed after nearly 30 years...



Aire-Flo is just a rebadged low-end Lennox...

The current owner of this house has lived here since 1980 and is a big fan of The Wind in the Willows...

 

2-door Cherokee!

 

This huge old house was renovated and turned into six luxury condos in 2005-2006 (I know there are six residences in this building because I counted six heat pumps in the back)...

 

Unfrotunately, the condos were completed right before the real estate bubble burst and the subprime mortgage crisis began, and amazingly the most desirable of all six condos stayed on the market until at least fall of 2008! My parents and I went and toured this place in August or September 2008 when they had an open house. All of the condos have central air, full kitchens with granite countertops, and their own washer and driver. The one my parents and I went in is the most desirable in my opinion primarily because the resident(s) had exclusive use of this 2-car garage! There may have been one or two other units with two bedrooms, but most of the units were 1-bedroom! This gem had 2 bedrooms and this garage! The asking price in 2008 was like $350,000!

And here are the 6 Bryant heat pumps (PECO probably wanted a fortune to tap into public gas lines). Five of them are original, and the newer one is easily identifiable for a number of reasons. For starters, the newer unit is taller than the other five. Those five are also more of an off-white color while the replacement is beige...
