Yikes! I was hoping it would be more to the tune of 5-600 bucks! One day i will find an affordable RTT for a cheap young soul like me.

I think Smittybuilt is around 800? Check around a couple places.

Or if you follow me around long enough, I'll upgrade.

The hard shell automatic one is super nice. $2500 though. But you just undo 4 straps, and push a button. In 1 minute, you have a tent. No effort needed. And has solar power built in.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
    Lets discuss essentials!

Even though this we are going to be traveling as a group we want to make sure that everyone can be mostly self sufficient.

So 1st off this is going to be a 2 day road trip with no real food stops planned, it probably shouldn't even need to be said but please make sure that you have enough food and water for your little group. 2nd make sure that any maintenance that needs to be done to your vehicle gets done (change oil, top off fluids, check tires including spares etc) and your jack and also make sure to have any tools that you think you may need. 3rd make sure to pack clothing and camping gear as you will need. We will be pretty close to the Canadian boarded so it could still get pretty chilly at night. 4th is bug spray, although people can share there are some strange allergies out there and I don't want anyone having a reaction while on the trip. Lastly I personally think that every truck should have its own first aid kit and fire extinguisher. This is a safety thing and honestly it's for you own personal protection. You can buy a suitable first aid kit and fire extinguisher both at Walmart for about $10 - $15 each so please don't say that is an unreasonable request. If needed I'll post some links on here for some cheap ideas on those

    Thank you

I carry two extinguishers. One inside the cab for a quick grab. One outside the the bed on my rear swingout for another quick grab.

Don’t forget allergy meds. And if you’re allergic to bee stings, make sure you have a fresh EPi Pen or two.

If you get bitten by a snake. You’re SOL. But that’s rare.

That’s ok. When your truck catches fire, it’s likely gonna be a slow moving fire.

I was kidding too. I thought you already knew :notsure: with enough combustible fuel and oxygen, all fires move fast.

This also reminds me. My 1st aid kit is so old that last time I needed something out of it the anti-itch medicine was dyed up and the bandages didn't stick. Time for me to buy a new one
If yours is over a few years old check it and see if anything needs to be replaced
