I was just coming in here to mention CHK, something is up today. Looks like they finally got the defibrillator treatment. I think it has a lot to do with the Iran Deal and oil prices. I would not be surprised if they reach $4

 

Should have bought in this morning at 3.46. Up to 3.64 now!

 

You still have time, I would expect oil to continue to rise. I would consider selling ~$4.. just play the geopolitical oil market in your favor

Blue Apron has been making a hell of a comeback as well... they changed their business model from subscriber based mail-delivery to in-store pre-package meals. It looks like it may be helping their bottom line, but as with SMRT, too early to tell for sure. Good for them though. I had to sell them off not long after their fail of an IPO.

 

I anyone is lazy like me, check out Merrill Edge Select. I started an account a month ago, and I have gained over 15%. It seems to be beating the market

 

Do you just dump money in to it and then they manage it? My main account is with Merrill but I have a manager that’s a family friend

 

Basically yes. The only catch is a minimum of $20k to open it. Then when you add money, it gets funneled into their program (basically it gets put where the rest is). You pick how aggressive you want. I picked their most aggressive plan, it has huge gain days and huge loss days, drives me crazy to watch lol but I am not taking anything out so it doesn't really matter.

 

Ah ok. Not bad. I’ll keep my investment manager and my quarterly checkup calls haha.

 

I almost wish I couldn't see its minute by minute updates but it can be entertaining (on a good day)..

 

I don’t even bother checking my account. I just let it do it’s thing. It’s a fairly aggressive strategy since I’m young and got time to let it have its downs.

 

Same here (the being young part). I am just trying to grow it as much as I can over a long period. I know the market ultimately trends up, so setbacks aren't really a big problem as long as it's long-term. I am willing to take the risk i there's a chance of beating the market.

 

I had to change my portfolio from underperforming VTRLX to VIIIX.. the former had too many foreign stocks... VIIIX seems to contain a lot of US blue chips and a low expense ratio (0.03%)

Yup, big gains earlier, now almost even at 0...

 

Guess I’ll be holding on to these longer than I thought

 

most of the time it takes me anywhere from a week to a couple of months to see actual gains from holding. Sometimes you just don't get lucky.

 

TODAY IS NOT LOOKING GOOD! Except Steinmart, somehow that's doing great..
