It would be excellent if white on the inside and black or silver on the outside would be offered in the basic paint package.

It’s powder coated so that’d be tricky.

But.... you could install, or have white vinyl installed VERY easily and cheaply. Or get white and install vinyl in whatever ever color you like on the outside panels.

    Just a thought.

Have a source for reasonably priced - color matched - vinyl? A quick google search looked like close to a grand for enough to wrap a GFC. For that price - I'll have a non color matched topper. :)

    2 panels 5-6ft long 2ft high (sides)
2 panels 4.5ft long 2ft high (front and back)

That’s what 45 sqft? Call it 50 worst case, so you’d need about a 2 ft wide roll. I don’t know what color your trying to match but a 10yd roll is like $60 bucks for normal stuff. I’m not a vinyl guy (though my buddy is). I guess if you were ordering a paint matched color it could be expensive maybe? I don’t know what color you need. But you’re only taking about covering 4 flat panels. That’s about as easy as it gets.

You can get the GFC powder coated to match as an option than just do the inside in White for a few bucks.

I’m ordering black for mine. Figured black matches everything and the roof is white anyway.

    Just my $.02

Can you (I) put vinyl on the roof to make it less transparent. I want to sleep in and don't care for the transparent top.

I'm getting black too. Thinking of fitting thin (1/2") closed cell insulation on the inside between the framing. I'll cover with some washable white material, maybe white formica w/ contact glue. Keep the insulation thin so not to hurt headroom very much when they're open.

Do you think it is possible to attach the rain gutter style crossbars to the GFC?

No, they have brackets for round (Yakima) bars that attach to the extrusions.

Not too sure that’ll work... the design of the camper has the panels sealing against the space frame. So unless you’re going to just attach to where the frame is not. You’ll interrupt the seal.

Yeah, that's my math too. But, it looked like color matching is expensive. I'm planning to go with silver so that it's least offensive to any color truck (IMHO). I would go with black but it'll get too hot for the dog.

Yes, they'll not intercede between the tubing and the frame. Perhaps they could be removable. Insulation from heat, cold and sound. Granted its not perfect coverage but it should make a noticeable difference. I'm not sure I'll do it this way, just brainstorming. Nice that in very hot weather you can open all the hatches but that will also expose the black windoors vertically to the sun.

Yeah, that would be the simplest solution but I'd rather not have uncovered Reflectix as the finish. Also the closed cell foam is more efficient and the formica is easy to keep clean.

It's definitely not transparent. Very much translucent, and from what I understand, a lot of the pictures that @inv3ctiv3 has posted are long exposures, making it look like it lets through more light than it does.

How long ago did you receive this email? And I remember you saying a while back that you were planning on getting the white glove delivery option as well correct? I’m #26 and was originally going to drive up and get it from San Diego but I’m thinking I might want to do the white glove delivery option!

Sure, if I decide to do it I'll post pics and temperature difference results. IDK if I can accurately determine temp. difference, it'll be more an impression. Insulation will help with condensation too. I believe the more insulation, the better. Installing it so that its unobstusive and neat looking is the problem.

Email was sent out to me May 1st about it beginning to be built, but im sure its delayed a bit again since all the GFC's i see being built on their page are with the orange frame, not the grey i had ordered.

Graeme said they were going to do a delivery run to LA right after expo west.. so maybe they are bringing a bunch of em out to us Socal'ers.
