The exposed hubs look better than some center caps but you also have to get off your ass and paint the hubs/ take care of them. I still need to do the rears and touch up the front.

Sometimes I lust after other wheels but at the end of the day I think the F5 is a solid choice.

If I could build a time machine and go back to 1926, I'd punch Henry Ford in his cock. Why couldn't he have just had people work two 20 hour days and then have 5 work days off instead of working 5 days a week. What an industrial scam...

    Monday is bullshit!

Question for you fellow AZ guys and gals: How essential is 4x4 in emergency situations when driving in areas that do not necessitate 4x4?

I have my preferences for my Taco almost buttoned down, but I have no plans to regularly wheel my truck through aggressive trails for the sake of wheeling. I mostly wanted 4x4 in the event that a normally tame fire road or trail suddenly took a turn for the mud, or in the event I encountered heavy sand or other soft surfaces during camping excursions.

I do not plan to camp more than 1-2 times a month, so maybe 12-14 times a year will the vehicle even be in adverse surface conditions. I dont feel like paying the premium for 4x4 is worth it if a good set of A/T tires is all I need.

What do you guys think? How often do you find yourself using 4x4 outside of trails that necessitate it?

I would of went with the Level 8 Bullypro had they still been in production over my Ray10's for the removable rock ring. I believe they weigh about the same 24lbs? Method and Icon has some nice wheels with removable rock rings but have 0 offset and weigh 30lbs+. The rebounds are nice tho

Alternatively, you can add a winch plate, hidden winch, and carry a PullPal and Tree Saver with you and pretty much make it out of those unlikely situations unscathed. Food for thought.

If you're on a trail that requires that in a 2WD truck, well... Enough said.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
My biggest regret is not getting 4x4..... to the point where I consider almost weekly if I should trade in and start over.

I traded in my prerunner for a 4x4! Got myself stuck a few times in mud while hunting/camping and had to dig out. Will never buy another truck that does not have 4x4.

I'm just concerned that, while I get an "Aha, I'm glad I got this!" moment, if that moment only comes once a year, I'm stuck with higher insurance, fuel costs and vehicle payments the rest of the year.

    Workin' on it....
Same here. I’ve owned a couple of vehicles with 4wd over the years and probably 90-95% of the time I’ve not needed 4wd in my general daily endeavors (not off-roading) but for that 5% if the time when you really need it, it’s there.

Personally, I don't see a reason to buy a 2wd truck... Except if its like a single cab commuter or something.

The gas mileage difference these days is very little, and the resale is much better for the 4x4. Plus if you need it you need it, and its a little late once you do.

Also, while mods dont really add much value to a truck, and you don't mod your truck to get the money back. However, alot of people who are willing to buy a modded truck will skim passed it once they see its 2wd.. So in the case something happened and you HAD to sell your truck down the road, why limit yourself. Lots of people are open to 4x2 or 4x4... Very few are looking for strictly 2wd. If that makes sense.

I can see your point but I like having it in case of emergency. Just for my hunting trips it has come in handy and let me get back into some spots I otherwise could not have.

Anyone ever move there RTT mounting brackets? The things that run the length of the tent?

All the mods I have done on my Prerunner will eventually be taken off and then go on my 4x4 in about two years.
