so today I am driving with my wife to Lowes to pick up some wood for a home project. I pull the sun visor down and over because the sun was coming thru the front door window. low and behold the damn visor falls out of the socket and it just starts flapping. my truck has 3600 miles on it and although this is minor, it still is frustrating. it won't just snap back into the socket and stay there either. so now every time I pull it down it falls out. I guess its a good thing it's almost time for the 5000 mile service...

I love my truck, more than any other truck I have ever owned. I always wanted a Taco this exact way that I have mine. but I really wish I had known about the little issues with these trucks before buying. I probably wouldn't have bought it. but then again, I only keep a vehicle about 2 years anyway, so we will see how long I hold onto it. but I do absolutely love everything about my truck. except the lil issues...

Same thing happened to me yesterday and the day before. Mine only has 2500 miles. I unscrewed mine to see how it works, you kind of just jam it back in there and hope it holds. Its pretty annoying.

I got a DCSB 08 in 08, and they all had the same stupid little issues...that's why when I read all the gripes and complaints all the early 3rd gen people have about this breaking, or that leaking, or whatever...it's just the nature of the beast. I GUARANTEE you go buy a 70K F250 King Ranch Lariat Edition and watch stuff fall off of it. The best advice I have ever used was, wait 2 years after a new model, I got the 18 after my 2 year wait...and haven't experienced any of said issues of the 16&17's have had..

Here’s what the Inside looks like. I shaved part of the shaft you can’t see. It make it easier for the collar to go past the catch. With out shaving it the shaft was too thick, making it too hard to go passed the collar to hold it in place. It also spread it out wider therefore not holding the collar as securely in place. I just put it back so I’m not sure if this actually fixed it but I can’t easily pull it apart with my hands anymore.

I can draw a picture if my explanation made zero sense.

So do I push from the bracket or the arm to hear it click? Mine hasn't fallen, but as many times as I've read it on this forum I'm sure it's going to happen soon.

There’s not really a click. Seems like a fairly poor design. If there was an internal collar on the catch or some change in diameter is would work better

Here’s a poor drawing of what I think is the issue
