See, here's the problem: Most people are SATISFIED with their dealers. Really! Sure, not on an enthusiast's forum, but in real life? They are satisfied and have no issues. As a matter of fact, I think pretty much anyone that has a Tacoma and struggled at a dealership has posted about it here, and, with Tacoma selling 20K a month, that is a tiny number.

I can agree with this. My opinion is for sure bias having been in the business. I probably couldn't even recall 1% of the services that went right, but I can recall almost 100% of all the ones that were catastrophic.

That's the problem... especially nowadays. One satisfied customer tells someone. A dissatisfied customer tells 13 people. Big difference.

If dealerships were as bad as they’re portrayed online (or anything else in life for that matter) then we’d all be fucked.

Internet is good for two things, and two things only. Porn, and complaining loudly as a group about things that aren’t that inconvenient, but apparently destroy our lives anyway.

Maybe the only useful nugget of information I've found amongst all the whining, boasting, insults, and members with 30,000 posts lecturing others on how only THEY know how to properly utilize a truck. lol

Ya I think a highschool drop out is ideal. I wouldn't want an academic paper pusher changing my oil. I want a kid who hates the structure of school and testing, who wants to be hands on. Just my opinion though.

So tell us, Mr Superior to any high school dropouts... how far have you gone in life? Honor Student? Multiple doctorates? CEO of a Fortune 500? 3 houses? Command 300 employees? Fleet of private jets?

Or just a prick that talks down to people that you feel are beneath you?

Here's how I look at it. Even if it's just an average Joe changing your oil at the dealership, he/she usually only sees Toyotas and are trained on each model as to any unusual needs when doing this maintenance. The guy at the Jiffy Lube sees every make and model under the sun, which makes it more difficult for them to keep on on things for every model out there. Also, when the dealership does the job, you do have that to back up any issues. Not knocking Jiffy Lube or such places, but if there is an issue, I feel more confident the dealership will stand behind it.

Again.... I didn't think anyone would take it so literal. Been an active member of a couple of car forums over the years and can't say I've ever experienced this level of sensitively.

My intent was not to offend those who didn't complete high school. For that, I apologize. I'll think twice about my word choice around here next time.

Fleet of private jets? No, not quite. I grew up piss poor. I did manage to graduate from a highly ranked university and purchase my first home at the ripe of 23 though. So yeah, I do okay....
