Saw this on USAA today so thought I'd share with my fellow AF brothers & sisters!

On Sept. 18, 1947, the Air Force became a separate branch of the military and full partner to the Army and Navy. And while the Air Force celebrates that date as its official birthday, the history of the branch stretches nearly as far back as the airplane itself.

Linky to a cool video (in the middle of the page)

Seriously, I'm proud to have served in the Active Duty Air Force. And my thoughts go out to all Air Force, Navy, Marines and Army that are serving in the war zones.
