For the cracked door panel...it might be glued right across bottom and top. Should just be a drop of glue at the mid point top and bottom. That lets the panel expand and contract with room moisture content.

Can you dis-assemble and put it together correctly? A glueing fix might just make the same thing happen at another grain line in the panel at a later date. Just my thoughts from experience :(

IMG_0063.jpg IMG_0062.jpgIMG_0069.jpgA few things I have made. My daughters bedroom suit. She is a concert violinist so I copied her 3/4 violin for the footboard. The footboard is 1 piece of Mahogany as is the larger boards on the head board. The bear I made for me. It has become a family historical document. Added wood from everywhere we vacation. The Map I made for my daughter and she did all of the painting on it to include the rose compass. Each state we go to she looks for a hat pin to put on it. On top of the dresser you can see some of the jewelry box I made her. On the wall next to the dresser is the Washington Monument with her national parks pins on it.

Intarsia work can be tedious. I started with the tongue and built it from there. Will pick up a small piece of driftwood from the gulf of Mexico to add to it this week end. If you look hard enough you see the pupils in the eyes.

Been dealing with a local hardwood mill, that has stopped milling, trying to buy some wood lately. Finally went the other day and picked up about 200 bf of cherry. It's not all great, but should be much better after hacking off bad portions and milling. Best part was, $1/bf. It was a hassle arranging everything, but I may need to spend more money on wood I don't need at those prices.

And a truckload of cherry cost less than a truckload of 2x4 at lowes! Planning to make a coffee table from the cherry, excited to get started.

For $1/bd ft I would snatch up all you can. That is a steal.

Id put some little corner supports under the 2x4 cross members, otherwise you could fall through...I had some like that going to my deer stand and I let a friend sit in it a couple times and one of the trips he fell through the step. I put the little corner pieces on and no problems since.

Made my first set of cornhole boards for my new house that's almost done being built. Stained in Beechwood its made all out of poplar wood. I'm waiting to poly it because I'm sticker bombing the top and need to save up enough sticks lol

Hopefully I plan to make my coffee table and dinning table in the new house with a couple of buddies who are way more and better at woodworking than I. Speaker box and cornhole boards are about my skill level lol.
