    I thought you had a 3rd gen?

I'm also interested in what the end goal is.
    -desert racing
    -bombing fire roads
    -general trail riding
    -highway mobbing
-driving straight in an an urban environment regardless of curbs etc

Before going to the SXLT kit, I would say go full custom and replace the factory mounting locations all together, idk what other options there are, but a custom rocker-upper might be in order to keep the track small and the travel big with the way the front inboard area of those trucks look in my head.

82" is a bit bigger than the back end of a modern dually...

And now I know a thing I probably should have already known lol.

IMO build it to class 7 spec... for reasons... (87" outside of tire to outside of tire maximum)

I’d probably keep it 6100 or 1400 truck status

And there is also a huge difference in width once you go from 33’s to 35/37/40”

Because both those classes can still legally be street driven

I have confusions about this, unless I really suck at the google:
Score 6100 is tube chassis 6 cylinder and 1400 is the open/unlimited/fun-run class.

I guess as long as your truck is street legal, it doesn't matter which class you are in.

Not looking to argue, and I didn't look through all the rule books, but I think 87" outside-outside is a restriction for all the "small truck" classes so it might be something to strongly consider if you do aspire to compete in a Score sanctioned event one day lol.

Both 6100 and 1400 require 18” of the original frame, usually the part under the cab is what people keep,

    Daren parsons truck is a 6100 and nick Eisenhower’s is a 1400

And oddly enough I think the score class 7 tricks are new as of last year

Why did you buy a brand new truck to turn into a racetruck?

Logic would've had me looking in a junkyard for a frame, even only a partial one, if that's all it takes.

Because I wanted a truck built my way, over time, that I could still use while I learned and further developed my style and if anything I would have done different I would have custom built a SR5 4x4 to order from the dealer to save money and then built it the same way.

    Edit.
I also didn’t want to drive something with endless common old truck problems.
(Prior to knowing 3rd gens were trash)

As someone similar to my age you should also understand that even though I have decent income
At the time I purchased my Tacoma’s my credit history was not long enough to allow me to get a used vehicle loan large enough to purchase anything I wanted. Whereas they would approve me for any new vehicle I looked at.

    Also
I have never at any time had a location to store a project junker while I build it

    So
That’s the reason for the decisions I’ve made

    Also
A standard road lane from line to line for one vehicle is 101” wide

    So
    101>82

Sounds a lot like work and not enough beer drinking.
