You might as well just backhalf while you’re at it...

If it wasn’t so time consuming and I had the time to do the cab cage too
    I might lol

That’s the exactly the same numbers I ended with and shooting for. I did the math last year. :p tho my anti squat was around 76

I’m glad I’m doing the cab cage first before going straight to throwing links on. I really want the support from the cage for the shocks. Plus I’ll be able to modify the front lower links mounts around my “b” pillar mount . They are pretty close to eachother. I would of never seen that if I didn’t start the mock up on the cage. Not say going links first is better I’m just catching things before hand that’s all. Good luck bud.

I’d love to do the cage right now but I take the cage super seriously and if I’m gonna do it it’s gonna go to a pro at it and I want mine tucked out of the way as much as possible since I’m so tall (6’3)
Which means 10k$ price range for a cage which I don’t have while investing 10k$ just to repair my rear end lol

If you’re linking it you pretty much need to do the cage first otherwise you’ll probably have to make compromises in design in order to not have to redo link and shock mounts

So for a desert prerunner play truck what kind of anti squat numbers would you like to shoot for?

Thanks. Don't think I want to go crazy low like 30 to 50. That almost sounds like it will eat up a lot of power. I'm only sitting about 300hp with a 4k lb truck. Prefer to have some forward momentum when I step on the pedal. I'm about 50/ 50 street/dirt. So probably a 70% for ideal for me? Some squat to help the rear dig into the ground, but enough where you'll still go forward.

Yeah I’m shooting for as level as I can right at 80ish. I still have some tweaking to get there. I’ll have more weight closer to the rear so that weight will help with squat. At least that’s what I’m thinking. Still looking to see what others have done and how it worked out for them. JD had good results with how his is set up for a 1st gen.

    Like?
Just so I can have a heads up and take into consideration

My fabricator is already designing the bed cage with the eventual cab cage in mind
So when the cab cage is done he can tie the two together easily

    Let me rephrase

The person who is doing my 4 link
Is aware I am caging the truck next, when money is available.
So he is building the shock cage/mount and such in a way that once the cab cage is built it can be tied together.

I read your notes but I was hoping you had specifics of- don’t do this, put this here, etc, :) I am trying to learn from your experience

You can't really learn from someone else's experience in that manner unless you are carbon copying their build ? ...and you are stepping into the unknown with your short course link idea.

Got it home last night. But had to get back to work. So my girl will take it for the alignment tomorrow.

    I totally understand and agree
Though, Kibbie did the grey truck as a short course 4 link with no cab cage.

But the customer now is upgrading the truck getting a full cab cage and traditional 4 link cause he wants moar.

I’m trying to get input and opinions from all angles and sources

Lots of research on here, Ig, talking to solo and LSK, Daren parsons, and basically anyone else with experience.

Just trying to learn and avoid another debacle

I think your going to be fine if you stick with the same Fab guy. Pretty sure he has the big picture in mind. If he doesn’t account for something then he will learn the hard way from his own work. But if you change Fab guys that’s going to be a pain.

Also if you go with an 18” c/o it’s gonna sit way above the bed line. Good thing is with the shocks being mounted farther back it will make tieing the cab cage into the bed cage a little easier.

If you’re doing a short course setup to save money then it’s a silly move. If you’re doing it because it will fit the goals of the truck better than a traditional setup with canoe style links then go for it.
