For folks without, know that both Simple Green Pro HD and Lye are biodegradable. You could simply let the solutions rest until they separate and skim the top off and dispose properly.

 

i cant get these gm knock sensors to work at all no matter where i mount them. dont think i ordered the wrong ones. gona just order some oem ones and a new harness...

 

What's wrong with the stock location? Mine fit flawless but they don't bottom out, and they're not supposed to.

 

I couldn’t get it to work on my 3rz I just went back to OEM

 

I forget there's even another engine option besides the 5vz sorry. The stock 5vz don't like knock at all I hope you can find something more robust.

 

stock location is a pain to get to. i have em mounted directly to block just above manifolds where people have had no issues mounting them before. im getting no reading at all off em. so i dont wana go through trouble of putting them in stock location just to have em not work.


im using the su1075 sensors btw.

 

there autozone sensor i recognize the part # there is a reason they offer lifetime warranty just go with the oem ones

It would probably be a good idea for me to coat everything with this when I reassemble my engine

I cant believe there was no real amount of shavings after he ran the mower an hour with just water in the crank case. Like if all the oil comes out of my truck, its gonna melt before it locks up haha

 

A little pressure washer, cleaned right up. I checked the warpage again and it took a .0025 feeler so I’m afraid it’ll have to be surfaced too. I soaked it in Sea Foam penetrating oil after to store.

 

You've done a great job, cleaning up that block.

 

Have it in my truck's engine, lawnmower, and soon to be transmission, once I order more fluid for a change.

 

The manual says to use seal packing on the block and head, I believe it's referring to the area between the points in this pic- I need some reassurance

Think you could keep records of what it cost you to build the block then pm it to me or post here?? I’m curious how much I could actually save doing it myself
