Ya man. That's why I'm so hesitant to pull off them now. And I know it was Minden that did it cause any ardbeg trip we did I had ARB by that time.

It's a deep enough crack to get a finger nail in. Towards the hook portion so I'm concerned that would break off

you painted it lol. you won't even see a crack now.

But I'm pretty sure its when I hit it on a rock in Minden and popped that black part of my bumper off. But if it was a good tow hook it should be able to take a bit of abuse.
I've bashed my ARB on plenty of stuff and it barely even shows besides a little bit of the red powdercoat coming off.

Honestly if you're going to use it at least go to princess auto and get a dampener for $15 and just get into the habit of always using it as soon as you use a snatch strap.
And hopefully you are using a proper strap and not just some cheap tow strap that doesn't stretch. But those dampeners are meant to bring whatever fails to the ground faster than letting it go flying so they should be used. I have two in my recovery bin and any time I use a strap from now on I'm going to make sure I use it.

I've been seeing way too many videos lately of failed recovery and rigging. Rather not deal with that shit on a trail of all things where help could be pretty far away.

Yes sir, proper recovery is so important. One of the reasons I bought soft shackles.

Trails were a bit muddy in places yesterday, ended up spending 5 hours from leaving the driveway to returning. I was in heaven the entire time :cookiemonster:

On our 5 hour adventure we of course made a wrong turn at one point because my navigator decided to not bring the navigation equipment?

She was unhappy with the amount of shoveling and raking she did on Saturday and was not wanting to do a thing lol

Wife at dinner last night: 'I am glad we took that wrong turn, it showed me how capable the truck is. I was sure we could not go up that way at all and you just made it seem like it was part of the trail.'

    :benchpress:

When we crossed a 'bridge' made of 5 huge tree's across a mud area with water flowing under them, just before this video I should have turned around.

Dont know why I have to convince myself its ok to use the locker, I have it to use it. Can hear me in this more than once trying to convince myself its ok. Derp.

Sorry @Norilsk, sometimes I cant stop the shit talk :spy:

Trying to get rid of them here shortly. Cant make my mind up on what I want to do right now with my truck(lift tires etc) when i decide I’ll be selling them haha

Damn home owner status ruined my extra money fund. A/C, new roof. Working on my deck. No truck parts

It's like most safety precautions people should take. It requires time and patience and a lot of times people just want to get on with it and then cut corners. Do it right and safety in mind. I don't care how long it takes.

DD for me finally got changed over to the motorcycle on Sunday.

Much cheaper MPG on this thing, and its way more fun for DD around town traffic

I have no plans for the fat though. I am already type 1 diabetic, that will just kill me way to fast :cookiemonster:
