We've had a pretty decent dry spell with 90s temps. Cooler today and it's tried to rain a little, but only sprinkles so far.

 

We've gotten a bit of rain today.... but that's ok, since we need it. Just checked my rain gage - 2"

Just when I think I can get into a project, something goes haywire. I've been trying to recover some processed material from a mine site. Started 2 weeks late. Now the damn throw out bearing in my dump truck is going. It's been making a little noise since I took it over 4 years ago, but I pretty much fended off the inevitable just by using a grease gun. Today the pitch changed and the growl is more pronounced. Gave it a couple more shots of grease and it quieted it down for a little while, but it's done. So now I gotta get the quote and see what this is going to cost.

Just getting back from Calico Ghost town with my Brother , had a lot of fun but was hard on my knees with the steep uneven terrain

Going up and down these rocky slopes and rock stair steps was painful , Almost fell a couple times

As for it being owned / operated by Knotts Berry Farms I also noticed a lot of San Bernardino County vehicles all over the facility

 

That's going to be $$$$$ , be close to $3k

Labor alone is a little north of $1600. They still have to gather the parts list. I'm waiting for them to email me the full quote.

 

There's a definite elevation change as its on the face of the Calico Mtns , maybe 500' climb from the parking lot to the top portion of the park and the terrain changes

But yes its a very cool place to visit !!

You're also within a few miles of NTC Fort Irwin

 

Lucky to get the yard mowed after work and haircut today. Going in early for electrical shutdown, then cutting out @ noon. Packing, getting rods and tackle ready for fishing. Please Lord let the sun shine in Virginia on Saturday!
