Did you happen to notice @3:34 in that video clip that regular guy is carrying Thor's hammer Mjölnir. I guess the director didn't do his homework and understand it's power or maybe he isn't an ordinary guy at all? ;)

Yeah, back in the day before CGI that seemed like cutting edge stuff. I was always amazed that everything would shred off Bruce Banner but his pants and as a kid thought that might happen too. :D

Or...maybe that ain’t the real Thor.

    Let that percolate.

My bet with the looks of the hammer they used a stunt double rather than the real thing. The one they used looks more like a sledgehammer, so might be saving the real one for the movies.

I hope not. I never was a comic guy growing up but I loved GI Joe and Transformers.

I’m excited to see what’s to come because I didn’t expect what happened.

Speaking of transformers and GI Joe. I need to look it up again but I’ve heard they are creating a Hasbro cinematic universe and somehow connecting the already existing movies...

I also saw a new Bumblebee movie is coming out set back when he was still a love bug well before Sam finds him. I think that one is due out later this year

Going to see Deadpool on friday. Im excited. Avengers was really good, but if you have read the comics you knew it was coming. Im going to try and watch Black Panther today. Not sure if im really excited about it because ive heard so many people say the commercials were the good parts.

Black Panther was a solid film. I don’t look into any “politics” that people talk about. Just go in to enjoy an MCU movie and you will probably like it.

I am hoping to see Deadpool over the weekend. I have a powerlifting meet on Saturday so my Fri/Sat are full but hopefully Sunday afternoon/evening...

I liked Black Panther, but not initially. You've already seen Infinity War so you know how it will end regarding the Winter Soldier. The rest of the movie can go 2 ways. You can watch it as a comic book movie and enjoy it for that or you can watch it as a Political piece and miss what it really is. I saw it the 2nd weekend and it was still completely full and over 2/3 of the audience were not there for Marvel-lore. At the end of the movie no one knew who the Winter Soldier was :facepalm:so it was pretty obvious they weren't attending out of comic fandom

So like I said, I did not like it initially. I walked out of the theater feeling like it was over-hyped and I told most of my friends who hadn't seen it yet that and they agreed but then we all talked about it again like 2 weeks later and all had the same feeling that we really did like it, we just didn't like that it marketed so heavily to the political agenda instead of it just being another comic movie. I wanted to see it again but never got a chance before Infinity War came out so maybe I'll catch it on a rental, I think it hit redbox this week...

The political reason is why i didnt see it in theaters..also i had to hold my tongue when people shouted this was the first black superhero move... I enjoy comics regardless or Marvel, DC, or independent. If we stop running calls today i will finally watch it haha.

I think the difference is that Black Panther is a superhero movie first and foremost, and it just happens that the hero is black. Race is a condition of evolutional location, not external societal influences (like the "involuntary colonialism" that some new school books are getting sued over). The mythology, society, cultural references, and conflicts are based on that and not the color of the characters' skin. They don't think of themselves as black - they're all Wakandans.

The others were written explicitly as black heroes for black audiences.

Blade was just...well, the first one was good, and Jessica Biel is the only reason to watch the third.

I just loved Stan Lee's comment in A:IW, "HAVEN'T YOU EVER SEEN AN ALIEN SPACESHIP". Marvel movies will always be missing something after his passing IMHO.
