so I get TRD Pro eBay listings automatically sent to my email from when I was shopping for a new truck. About half of the time, dealers list regular Tacoma’s as pros. Sometimes maybe they don’t know and it’s an honest mistake. Other times, shady dealers are being normal shady dealers doing their normal shady dealer stuff.

Take a look here and cast your vote: https://m.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Tacom...62b92d41630a8604566e880fff1e43f&ul_noapp=true

I think TRD models when looked up sometimes show as pro, I know I have seen something where my vin was used on my 17 and it came up as a pro.

All this did was bring back memories for me. I used to live (River Road Apts) and work (on Delegates Row) by this dealership.

I had this happen and they confirmed it was a pro on the phone. After reviewing pics it was clearly not. I think they were just stupid.

It’s not a TRD Pro because:

    1. People don’t remove their TRD Pro badging and replace it with V6 SR5 badging. I don’t see anyone here ever mentioning that as a mod.

    2. No TRD beadlocks.

    3. No TRD exhaust.

    4. The height overall is not a TRD Pro ride height.

    5. Seats don’t appear to be sport seats.

    It’s a very expensive used SR5.

Haha this reminds me of the “stolen valor” websites I follow, there aren’t many Navy SEALs in the world, but there are an awful lot of people claiming to be one on the internet

Here is the scoop... it’s apparently listed as a Pro on the carfax. Clearly the dealer is ignorant. Whether or not they are shady is unknown, but ignorant for sure.

    None...yet.
Pros must be pretty damn rare. I've never even seen one driving around here in ATL. I shopped for my used 2nd gen for about 3 months online. About 50-60% of Tacomas were listed incorrectly. Most dealers have no clue. And I couldn't even filter results, because I'd end up filtering out ones that I'd be looking for. Most common one I saw is calling any SR5 a Sport model, which was tough since I was looking for a TRD Sport. And listing Access cabs as Doubles. I did eventually find the one I wanted though.
