She definitely leans, but the extra width adds to the stability. Unless I'm doing something stupid she's nice and stable.

The more uptravel you have the less tippy you're going to feel as well.

Psh.... I bet you don't even mall crawl.

    Poser.

Nice man! Sucks about ripping your frame and damaging the flanges but looks like you got her sorted.

Huh, I've got more uptravel than I did before, but that being said I have also been doing more and more difficult trails.

Landing on a rock kept me from going all the way on my side
    IMG_1809.jpg

And another spot I felt pretty tippy

Nothing you can do about those two situations @snowsk8air2 . In the second spot I would have had that tire on the ground, but I'd still lean over.

    Just pick better lines! :luvya:

Yeah both of those situations I slipped off line and into bad spots. Now I just get bad feelings when I start to get tippy. Was just curious how it felt in your truck.

Wanna come to Moab next thurs/ Friday?

Ha! You can always stop and reset.

I'll be in Moab late October for Rock Therapy.

There was no reset on the first one, tip over. Slid down into it, forward or backward made it worse, so we winched up and out to keep me from going over.

Rock therapy in October huh. I got a few things around then, but have been wanting to make it to that event for a few years

One more component that could potentially break too.

FWIW, you can get rotors custom drilled for certain wheel patterns. My rear axle has em so it matches my front axle

Moab is a funny place like that. One trail can be made in a Crown Vic with good line choices and the same trail can put a built crawler on its side in a heartbeat with a missed line

I actually prefer it that way. Makes it more versatile and unpredictable.

I'm going to call this my first real break. I ended up with the tires hard passenger against a rock, the door against a rock, and the rear tires pinned. I put her in reverse, hit the locker and POP! The passenger ujoint exploded and during the recovery took out the ears on both the inner and outer shaft.

This all happened about three hours into the weekend. :bananadead:

After some winching we managed to get her out and I drove her back to camp. I loaded up the next morning and headed home. That was Saturday and I leave for Hot Springs tomorrow, so no time like the present to get her fixed. I ordered a set of Yukon 4340 shafts and their super joints. We'll see how those hold up to the abuse.

    2018-05-25 16.39.48.jpg 2018-05-25 17.54.51.jpg 2018-05-25 17.55.26.jpg
I tore here down Saturday and discovered that the rotating ujoint had dislodged the upper ball joint which pulled the lower out of the cup as well. The knuckle basically fell off when I jacked up that side of the truck.

She's back together now with new ball joints. The shafts should be here by 3pm today and we leave at 5am tomorrow. Woohoo! :annoyed:

Well, I at least made it up the main line of Hannibal Lector this time. I broke at the exit. I am still amazed at what she'll go up though. Thankfully I wheel with a group of guys that know how to put me on the right line.

I might need to redo my decals now.

Leaving early meant I didn't have to rush back to town, so me and the girlie stopped in Mason for some breakfast. It's a picturesque little town.

I was thinking about adding vinyl decals labeling each of the major dings.

Time to dig out the Sharpies just to make sure the advert is legible.

I had a few minutes so I fired up the vinyl cutter. I’ll get these added to the rig this afternoon.
