Just picked up this magnetic phone mount for $6 after coupon.

So far, I'm really liking it. It has a very slim metal plate that I put inside my TPU phone case. It was a little loose for my taste, though never moved even on the shittiest California roads, but I wanted it a bit more secure, so I trimmed up some grommets that wedge in place when the mount is installed...rock solid.

I searched all over for good ways to hide the cable. Was hoping that someone had snuck it into the AC ducts and out the vent nearby, but didn't see anything. I really don't want to tear out the stereo just to run a cable. Right now I'm using small cable clips that I trim and just press fit into the gap...it's an ugly hack, but it does stop a bit of squeaking from all the loose plastic in this junky interior. Any better ideas to hide all but the last 6 inches (that's what she said)?

What cable are you referring to? Your usb charger?

Yes. I'd like to hide it as much as possible inside the dash, only to emerge near the CD slot. I don't want to drill any visible holes though so was hoping someone had routed cabling out the vents or otherwise.

Here's what I ended up doing. With the silver braided cable, routed under the cupholder to the left cigarette jack, I'm not too unhappy. If I ever have the dash out, I'll look into concealing it inside the vent or other subtle place

Ya, that's not a bad solution. It looks pretty clean and the cable matches your console pretty well.
