That's how my mom taught me, but I just searched it and apparently that's not a good way of testing it! WTF mom.

I went to the Autonation in Leesburg. I thought it was going to pass. I did have rust and corrosion, and parts that were flaking off, but I didn't see any holes.

I bought it used there in 2012. I did NOT do the hammer test myself, so I am assuming they coated it back before I bought it, but that it didn't work.

Did they say they found holes or replacing for the potential safety issue? Maybe I should give them a try to see what think of mine. Do you have a service writer recommendation?

Honestly once they said they were replacing it, I stopped asking questions about its condition. They said it failed the inspection, and that's really about it. I can dig in some more for you on Thursday or Friday when I go back.

I'll shoot you a PM either tonight or tomorrow morning about the service writer.

That would be awesome, thanks. Guess I wouldn’t ask many questions either, I’d smile, say thanks, give them the keys and walk away...

Well we will have to correct that. It’s just a little country diner but they make their own bread and everything else is sourced locally.

got a meter and a quick lesson on how to use it. Blew out both fog lights somehow, the only other problem was the popped fuse. Was reading 13.42 at the end of the harness to the light. Already called baja and they are going to fix them.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Are they individually fused? If so, you blew the 2nd one with the bad light.

So I was talking to a guy at work about the new armor I ordered and he asked how I was gonna pull my trailer, (7x12 utility trailer just for reference). I told him the high clearance rear bumper has an integrated hitch under the plate. He says that its illegal to pull any kind of trailer from you bumper that you have to have some kind of hitch. Does anyone know if this is true? I did a quick google search and couldn't really find anything definitive. Not that I really care if it is illegal as I doubt that's gonna stop me from pulling my trailer when I need too. Just figure maybe I should know the real answer just incase.

Well damn, no one expected that. I wonder if there’s some underlying issue, or if you just got really unlucky.

I'm not saying it makes it illegal but it's very common to tow from a ball attached to the bumper. I'm going to side with Randy here. There may be limits as to what you can tow from the bumper, but not a limit as to towing itself. What about goose neck trailers, those are in the bed, not on a hitch, and they haul a shit ton of weight. Yeh, your friend is full of it!
