    Hey Everyone,

I'm very interested in getting a new Tacoma, but ideally need an inch or two more of legroom. Does anyone know of any brackets that move the seat back a little bit like the ones on extendmyseat.com? Another option is aftermarket rails. Does anyone know the bolt mounting measurements for attaching the factory seats to the seat brackets?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to TW!

Dood, how tall are you? I'm 6'3, all legs driving a MT and I don't even move the seat all the way back

How are you sitting? If you can change your sitting style to sit straight up more you can squeeze at least another inch or two.

Not sure how much of a "DUH!" answer this would be but have you tried to adjust your steering wheel? There's a lever on the bottom that you can pull down and it'll allow you to move it in and out, up and down about an inch or so. Also, adjusting your seat to just go all the way back should work fine, I have a Double Cab though so if you're stuck in place with a, Extended Cab then you might want to consider getting a bigger cab for more adjustment room. I'm 5'9" and if I push my seat all the way back on the stock rails, I'm sure that I'd have to use the balls of my feet to reach the pedals.

But I'm so short I haven't had any reason to push my chair all the way back anyway

I'm 6'5". I drove a double cab last night sitting completely back in the seat with it moved all the way back and the steering wheel as out of the way as possible. It's doable, but not ideal. Just another inch or two of legroom would make a huge difference.

A Tundra might be a better fit for more room.

Sounds like you need to re-evaluate your choice of vehicle. While the Tacoma is an excellent truck, if you are not comfortable you will never be happy with it. Either look at full size trucks or SUVs.

You are not made for a small truck, get a Tundra or full size pickup.

I'm 6'4". If you really want a Tacoma, you cannot figure out your seating position in just one test drive. Do two or three test drives, and clear your mind of previous seating positions in other vehicles. For example, I came from a 4Runner and I don't sit in the Tacoma like I sit in my 4Runner or in my wife's Highlander or my daughter's Tundra.
Maybe you end up not fitting as we all atr different. I finally figured it out though and routinely drive several trips with no fatigue, other than I'm getting old and stiff lol.

I think you're right. I'm definitely going to go on a longer drive. Part of the issue is I'm used to driving smaller cars where you sit down with your legs in front of you and sitting more upright is odd for me. I do have to spread by knees apart to get them around the steering wheel in the Tacoma, but I've driven cars that are far worse. I really want to find a way to fit comfortably. The Tacoma is much more impressive than I expected it to be. It ticks all of the boxes I'm looking for in a truck. The Tundra is far too big for what I need.

Understood. When I get in the Tacoma is full on one side lol. I have a manual too so that had to fit as well. I went with no sunroof for a bit more headroom. Basically I get in different than other vehicles, I get out different and I sit different. Not bad, just different. Plus I am 55 yo now and not as flexible as I once was.
Right now with my job I am driving 600-800 miles a week in my truck. I drive three hours, get out to stretch and pee and I'm fine.

I know what you mean....the Tacoma is much different, seating-wise, than full sized trucks. It's even a good bit different from the Frontier I drove the past 11 years before buying my Tacoma.

I'm 6'4" but longer in the trunk than the legs.

It suits me just fine with legroom.....I couldn't handle an inch less headroom, though.

That being said, I keep my seat in a fairly upright position most of the time....supports my back and neck better.

    You described me well, too.

49 and not as flexible.....and knee/back arthritis is becoming a greater obstacle. Daily doses of Voltarin are helping hugely, lol.

I sorta back into my truck on entry.....arse on side of seat.....one leg up on the step rail...scooch across and pivot forwards. Looks odd....but it works for me.

A sunroof was a no-go for me, too.

I go in head first lol. First vehicle I have had to enter that way. Right foot, right arm, head and the rest follows.
