I'm honestly a little worried about the longevity of this motor since it revs so high so often. Makes me wonder if the the torquey v8 would outlast it.

I doubt it. There is maybe 3 gallons still in the tank when the range hits 0.

I just had a 24.4 mpg tank. 430 miles on 17.6 gallons. My best tank by almost a full mpg.
And that even included some really low speed trail time.

V6 Auto, DCSB Off Road. Still stock with ~25k miles.

These are my last ten fillups of the Tacoma. My overall average is 23.2 miles after tracking almost 18,000 miles via Fuelly. I live in hilly terrain 40 miles north of Seattle.

Worst part of this is the steady increase on the price of fuel

Any truth to this. I've seen a tank cam in a newer Audi and when it read 0 miles to go it was basically bone dry and running on fumes. Now I don't have any fact on what Toyota has going on in the tank.

I don't see how this is possible. I've methodically tracked every single drop of fuel by hand since my truck came off the trailer and never broken 20mpg. That's over 118 tanks of fuel and 38K miles. I drive like a grandpa and still run factory wheels/ tires with no lift.

Every single one of these fillups is at the Marysville Costco, 40 miles north of Seattle. They are on my way to work, generally have the cheapest local gas price, and sell high-quality gas. I try to fillup all the vehicles and the motorcycle at Costco.

Costco also has fuel injector cleaner added to its fuel.

That's crazy I've got a 3" lift and 305/55/20 Hankook Dynapro tires and I never go under 20 mpg no matter how mad my foot is that day.

For purposes of comparison, here is my total fillup chart MPG. Of note, my Tacoma is bone stock, except that I put a Tyger tri-fold tonneau cover on it last month.

It helps when you have flat highways. I'm in SoCal and the warmer climate helps. Also I try to coast downhill in gear and engine brake where possible. I don't even try hard tbh. I just like driving cool, calm and collected.
