Richloam WMA Info & Meet Thread

This will be about a 3 hour trip for me so I'm contemplating if I wanna get up at 5 on a Sat to go wheel,but June 16th sounds like a good date.

 

Bummer that ain't even long enough to grab lunch on the outside let alone a quick visit to the YM meet.

 

We could always push it back to 0930 for you... j/k

If 10 would work better for you that would be fine too.

 

Im actually thinking possibly heading up on a friday and camping for the night.

 

You'd have to check into that. I'm not sure Richloam's hunting camps are open year around like Citrus. Might have to stay at Croom or something.

 

I was thinking earlier that might be a good option.

I think there is free camping in Green Swamp. It might not be free, but I'm certain there are campgrounds.

 

It was free during hunting season back in the early '90s (the last time I camped there, haha). Again though, I'm not sure it was open year around. It could have changed though.

 

I was trying to find some places to camp but ran out of time at work they actually want me to work can you believe that shit lol

The only campground in Green Swamp that allows for vehicles is McNeil. As of right now, there is availability for the weekend of June 16. It says group camping is permitted with no specificity as to group size. And it's free. I'm going to go ahead and book a site for the June 15-17.

Kind of out of the blue, but I've had a few beers .

I would not recommend airing down for Richloam. I've seen mud push a fully inflated tire off the bead, so I can only imagine it would happen faster with a lower pressure. In fact, the only flat I've had thus far with the OGT was due to running aired down at Croom and hitting mudholes. It didn't immediately deflate the tire but the next morning it was flatter than a pancake. I had to break it down and clean the mud out of the bead and reinflate it. Been fine since then.

 

I’m taking the 16th off. But like I said, if the marine forecast is good, I’ll be going offshore. If it isn’t good, I’ll join y’all

 

The question is will the mosquitoes be worst on the boat or at Richloam.

Just in the gulf out of Tampa bay on the weekends and we go to the keys every year. We are trying to get at least one trip in out of ft. Pierce
