I'd rather do 50 miles without traffic than 5 in bumper to bumper gridlock.

Srunners had them and I think a couple companies makes aftermarket ones for us too. Be nice if I was rocking an srunner or a normal 5lug. Can corner better

I'm jealous of your leaf spring arch...my brand new Dakars are flat already. Oddly enough, the lift hasn't changed though lol. I need to put an AAL in the them though or they aren't going to hold up to any weight in the bed for very long.

The 98-04 ones are supposed to do that, provides the most comfortable ride.

that because he is SUA. SUA packs are very arched, have to be.

Dakars are made to run flat.

5lug leafs are hella arched stock compared to 6lug leafs. 6lug leafs on a 5lug actually lower them about 1-2” because they are so much flatter

It's because they have to dip all the way down under the axel. Makes for more arch. ;)

good to know. They started off somewhat arched but over the past couple weeks they've gone flat and even a little bowed in the middle where the Ubolts grab them. Figured it must be normal though given all the similar reports on TW. They do ride much better than my previous 3 leaf AAL setup that's for sure.

When I lived 15 miles from work, I had to take the freeway that runs parallel to the foothills of the mountain range we have outside of LA (between us and the desert). I desperately looked for a dirt road or fire road that I could take to/from work every day but there wasn't anything that was open to the public in that area. Would've been awesome.

So I'm just thinking about crazy engine swaps I can be doing.

The Supra 2JZ Twin Turbocharged engine used the A340E at one point. How hard would it be to mate the A340F to it, considering they are the same transmission?

If that's not possible, I was thinking I could get a 2JZ already mated to the A340E and just swap the output shaft on the A340E to fit the A340F tail section.

Toyota sold the Supra for the USDM until 2002. 1996+ Supras had additional emissions equipment in order to satisfy the newly implemented OBDII standard.

California law dictates an engine swap must come from a same year or newer vehicle, and retain all the original emissions equipment. If I can find a wrecked 1998+ Supra, I can harvest all the emissions equipment and get it SMOG'd. I just have to bring it to a BAR referee and get a sticker approving the engine swap once and IF it gets done.
