    Howdy,
been reading about the air pump filter being sucked into the air pump. My Taco is a 12 with the pump. I went out to check my filter and there isnt one. It is just a plastic cap which seems to break up air flow. Am I goofy, has the filter disapeared, or was there never one? Thanks and have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Howdy,
sorry, cant post a picture. On the intake is just a black plastic cap. I looked into it and there is no indication that there ever was a filter. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look up some photos/writeups. You may be looking at the plastic “baffle” style filter on the end, the foam filter is behind that.

    Howdy,
well, I just ordered the Uni filter. My Taco has 104,000 miles and I guess it is time to start filtering the air pump. Many thanks for the replies. Have a goodun!!!!

I think he was meaning the cap on the snout of the upper pump cover. You have to remove the center screw and pop the top cover OFF to reveal the foam filter.

Like stated above the filter is inside the pump housing.

Just did this mod on my 2013 4cyl .Pop off the plastic cover and the top of the pump unscrewed with a torx bit. once off you will see the foam filter. The round cap is a pain to get off
