That's what I thought too.. the shit storm came it parallel to the windshield so it wasn't as direct of a hit.. maybe that's how it survived.. :notsure:

Saving up money for the next one!
April of 2016...thought my truck was going to be totaled after the hailstorm. They repaired a huge dent in the roof; and replaced the windshield, hood and front fender; and all of the little dents. About $7000 worth. Glad with that...didn't want a new truck with payments!

Damn! That sounds crazy, i remember that storm. We got a lot of hail too.. luckily i only had one truck at the time and i got it put away during that one..

Do you know if they did paintless dent removal? Or if they had to repaint the truck?

I haven't gotten to the last page yet but be sure to check out paintless dent removal .. best way to go IMO. My 97 Z71 got pounded by baseball size hail in 2000 and I had the PDR done and it was like new. Back then it only cost me 500 bucks.. pricier now, but less than new panels and repainting etc.

Thanks for the tip! I should only be out my deductible, so im not too concerned with price as long as it gets done right. Insurance should cover everything above my out of pocket deductible

I hear ya. I chose PDR to keep my factory paint and panels etc. The sheet metal they use these days and the way it's stamped in the dies makes it very easy to "massage" back into it's original shape. I asked if it would weaker after that and the guy told me it would be just as strong as it was before. IMO it's hard to beat factory paint unless you just get a very high end paint done. I've seen very nice jobs done that just seem to still not last as long as factory. Hail usually doesn't cause any cracks in the CC so the paint should be fine once the metal is reformed back into place.

During lunch, i checked over the truck..

Hood is bad, roof is worse. Dings on both a-pillars, front fenders, rear bedsides too. Pretty much all over the truck:bananadead:

    Edit: windshield is okay though:cookiemonster:

Hood. Basically 3 dings. I can live with it. If not then I can get a c.f. hood
