The only reason I have the 6' bed is because they don't have a 8'.

We have a Chevy 2500 4 full doors and 8 foot bed at work. Actually 2 of them now. One with a cap and no backup cam, the other without a cap but has a backup cam.

    They're too freaking long

Well, honestly, I am that guy that never goes under the hood, or at least I used to be. Truth, I have had out car 20k miles and just opened the hood for the first time to add washer fluid. It was half full. I did buy the extended service plan though so I am not to blame. The truck on the other hand, I have had the hood open at least 4 dozen times in the last day or two (kidding of course). I will actually be testing some new LED bulbs in the low and high beams this weekend so I will be in there again. Next is installing a light bar. But I go through washer fluid like crazy, so even when I am not modding I am in there.

So when I saw this mod (Redline Tuning Struts) on @pdenajim Jim's truck I knew I had to have them. They really do make opening the hood for those of us vertically challenged. When I add the lift it will be harder.

I'm under there all the time too! And I do love them. My subaru comes with them stock and they're so darn handy. I'll get them eventually, but not just yet.

Actually, I was surprised just how long the double cab long bed Taco is. Overall. It is longer than a double cab short bed Dodge. I had a 3/4 ton diesel ram with a 8' bed, double cab. That thing was a beast. I could put my Road King in the bed and shut the gate.

I understand the desire and need for a short bed when it comes to wheeling and I am sure I will regret it one day, but like most/if not all of you, when I start to get into it all the time I know the bumpers will have to be replaced with high clearance. And really tall tires to keep from teetering when you high end on certain trails. :bananadead: I'm not mentioning any names.

Well, you have bigger fish to fry than me. I have to hit up the accountant with these little mods when I can otherwise I have Mod DT's. Don't worry though, she is aware of the big ticket item I am saving for

Speaking of which..........have you seen those (relatively) new Billies? The 8112's :drool: SCHA-WING! :laser:

Well, I lik the look of the access cab too but I needed more room for all the shopping bags when I go to the mall. LOL
Seriously though, if it has more when I go to buy it, I want it. I almost bought a Pro but 5' bed was less.
I almost regret not getting a Off Road though........however, I learned how to crawl control before it was a thing, with my Tundra.
Plus I'm kinda sporty,, well, in the right light, if you squint, and at the right angle.

Hey Rob, when you install the lift you'll have to attach a strap to the bottom front edge of the hood so you can grab something to close it.

    j/k............;)
