FYI: I was just looking through the service manual and came across the idle learning procedure.

It says idle learning begins when the coolant temperature is 80C/176F or above and that it should idle for 5 minutes with no accessories on (e.g. A/C).

That's because you're in 5th gear at 40 mph. How about choosing 4th gear, so the rpms are a little higher and not lugging the engine?

I putt-putt around town in 5th too, but when I need to accelerate, I shift.

3-4 still pisses me off daily, doing 29mph on my way to work in 3rd gear with the engine "screaming"

this settled down for me - I just let off the skinny pedal a bit and it'll upshift to 4th most times when not under load then I can coast in 4th at those <35mph speeds generally unless I punch it and put load on

Literally refuses to change until 31mph for me, no matter the load.

You must have gotten used to it, the tune doesn't learn

i still feel that the throttle mapping for each gear is off, mostly between 1-3 and 4-6 which i believe is known.

for a given throttle positiion from a dead stop, it runs through the gears shifting accordingly with a reasonable rate of acceleration, then when it shifts to 4th, without changing my throttle input, the rate of acceleration is drastically reduced and i feel my head lunge forward. this is even more pronounced when it shifts from 4th to 5th.

it really feels like 20% throttle in 1-3 feels like 20% but in 4th through 6th 20% feels more like 10%.

Is this not possible to fix? Honestly, really my only driveability complaint.

edit: and i do not notice this as much with ECT on, only when off and in D. S5/S6 seems to operate the same as in D in relation to throttle mapping and when it shifts.

Drivability requests, shift change requests, etc etc all will be able to be adjusted the way you individually like it once custom tuning request is setup and ready.

As I said in the MT thread I'm implementing an all new system to track customers, requests, etc. No more emailing and waiting, or things getting behind or lost.

I just need some time to finish it.

I always get some of my best work done when going nuts on those 14 hour flights to Asia trying something, anything to make me forget how long I'm in a tin can breathing recycled farts! :)

The farts only linger for a little while. The air coming in from the engines for pressurization has to go right back out, otherwise the tin can would explode.

    Breathe easy.

I agree with this, 1.04 for me is shifting between gear way to much. 34" tires have some do do with it, but 1.03 was better at holding gears better not jumping around gears so much,
