Yeah, I know exactly which 10mm bolt you are referring to! The space to get that rear bolt out is tighter than a peckers hat

Just make sure it's a California engine and not Fed 49 state engine.

Oh also anyone want to buy my F5s and KO2s. They're just taking up space in my garage.

its been done. There is at least 2 4wd 2jzgte tacos out there and countless 5lug 2jz/1jz tacomas out there and lots of pretacos/4runners with 7m motors.

And would buy a super for 5k wrecked all day. that's cheap. But im willing to bet they the auto ones with 2jzge motors not 2jzgte motors. There would be no point in doing a 2jzge motor in my opinion. Way to much work for very little reward other than you say you have a 2jz...and people go COOL! then they see its just a ge motor and go...oh..hm. meh.

5vz with a blower would knock your socks off compared to the 3rz you have now. In stock form the 5vz motor is plenty of motor for these trucks, especially with a bit of boost.

Hell just going to a manual tranny would improve things a lot.

If given the choice between free 7M and drivetrain and leaving it alone and driving it how it is I'd leave it alone. 7M isn't worth the effort unless your restoring a Supra.

mmm..i wouldn't. But i know how to build a 7m. Its a great motor, just has its limits and quirks. Could easily make it a nice 400hp motor for cheaper than any 2jz and that would be a LOT of power in a taco haha

above 400hp..yeah your asking for trouble IMO.

Oh Christ... I forgot that was a thing.

I was talking to my neighbor who grew up here in the 60's and he told me if you looked over the foothills you can see the smog and haze coming over the horizon. It was downright Beijing levels of pollution. He moved in the late 70's and came back in the early 2000's and was shocked at how clean the air was now. There's just so many cars here I'm happy they did something about the air quality issue.

It sucks if you want to be into cars in this state, but I'd rather breathe clean air to be honest with you.

Yeah I know with studs and a solid HG they're decent but without a full standalone and complete rework of all the 80s efi nonsense on them they're just heavy dogs. I wouldn't do a 2J either. Aluminum LS would be cool but honestly I like my shit to just be running well (without having to fuck with my fueling, ECU, spark, i dont want tuning to become my pre trip ritual) more often than not so turbo/SC 4 banger or V6 is where it's at in my book.

    what size KO2s? 33s?

I want to upgrade to 33s (currently on 32s) but don't want to spend top $$$ on new tires since these are only 8 months old. If you're ever out driving through this way again anyhow

for what we do, keeping it simple is best. Even a SC isn't a great idea..

You can't easily update the EFI setup with an IS400 setup on a 7m. Pretty popular mod. I wouldn't call them heavy dogs at all..i mean..the MKIII supra is a fat car haha but again, when done right the 7mgte can haul your shit the store fuckin fast. haha

I'd love an L33 5.3L LS for Frank. Just hard to find and Im not ready to do that...yet.

Yup, I'm kinda sad I have to be the one to put them down actually. I'll keep two for spares though.

You don't need 3.5BS for a daily, they're perfect for daily duty. The whole reason I'm getting rid of them now actually. Kinda thought about putting them on the cruiser to finish burning the KO2s out too but that could take forever.

    yeah i know i don't need it...but I like it :p

honeslty I don't need anything for that truck. I just put new tires on it, and 15s are cheap and these tires will last forever on this truck.
