Emissions Problem - Failed Smog

Yes, it was replaced a few years ago. I am trying to track down the shop that replaced it, and see if the (I don't know what the number is technically) code / model #/ serial number is in the system.

 

You need the EO number for the cat

 

Yeah, just my back cat is OEM. That back OEM cat is the one the smoggers are telling me threw the code (and the reason for the scanner purchase). The only issue with the front cat is it seems to be incognito / brandless etc. The shop that installed it said they are going to call me back with the information on it. I don't remember when it was installed but it was probably either in 2014 or 2012 around this time of year.

Yeah all after market parts that have to do with emissions have a EO number which can be looked up, just like you K&n intake, it should have one. Oem stuff is alreadt carb legal. So when the smog guy looks he either looks for the oem stamp or the EO number. My front cat is oem thats why you see just the toyota logo and a 3 digit code after

Cheaper then oem and has a EO number. Also you can just bolt it in yourself

 

those are the ones I got put in my 04, they're good quality. Not OEM quality but as good as you can get without paying a couple grand at Toyota.

 

Walker makes them as well. I've used there exhaust and muffler twice now.

So i just read a shit ton of info on this, op there is a number of compays that make carb legal cats, https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermktcat/exemptcat09.pdf read throug all of this and you will see which companies makes cats and what is the EO number for each one. High lighted below is the info on walker who makes oem cats. Eo# D-182-52 now there are other companies that make cats and they all have there oem EO number. My eyes started hurting after i read the first couple so this is all yor getting from me lol. But if you were to get the EO number for all of them then google search them to see which is like yours then you can probably just use that EO number.

 

Or if you were to find out what company the shop you had it replaced at uses then you can just look up the eo number

 

UPDATE: Shop called me back on front cat installed in 2014. Got the EO# Andy part#. Check.
