My buddy is hellbent on getting an black 05 coma xcab with a hood scoop. He now has the idea of lifting an X-Runner because he cant find the black/hood scoop combo with any other tacoma version. Does this just involve replacing the drop kit with and a lift kit?

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
x2...all trd sport editions have scooped hoods...or u cn buy one aftermarket. easier than buying a truck that u dont want just for the hood

Lifting an X Runner would be dumb IMHO.

    Buy a TRD Sport.

Ya. I have an 06 sport. I have a scooped hood. Lifting an X-runner would be retarded. What would the ground effects look like a foot and a half off the ground? Ya, thats retarded.

Even though the X is not sold as a TRD, it is effectively a TRD Sport.

Yeah. I'm trying to talk some sense to him but hes not hearin me. I said at least consider another dam color. I told him the hood scoop is just cosmetic. But hes not gonna budge. I told him tacomas are super hot right now especially with the buy back so finding that combo of a truck is gonna be even more difficult. Hes bringin his 98 xcab down to the dealership tomorrow to see whats up. Thx for all feedback

An Xrunner is basically a 5 lug 2wd tacoma with cooler shocks and ground effects, right?

Well here's a 2wd 5 lug tacoma that's "lifted." Don't see why it wouldn't work on an xrunner.

5 lug long travel is the JAM.

Doing it on an xrunner would be a waste of money since they cost a lot more than a base 5 lug, but whatever floats your boat I guess....
