Holy shit dude. Glad you guys are alright! I'm going down to Hartford this weekend, I might have time on Sunday to help with yard clearing if you'll need it.

    RIP the flow.

    Happy belated Birthday btw!

    wow!
Looks like some of those trees may have snapped above the trunk. Nasty winds.
What a crazy storm that was. Will have to check the power outage map. Wonder how they are doing down there?

I was OK near the coast, couple of 50-60 mph wind gusts.
Where she is ,it's probably 15 miles from Nuno.
She said the towns were pretty much shut down today. Lots of things came down.

As far as running underground, lots of is in manholes on major roads. Power and Comm. stuff. Mostly major feeders.
Too cost prohibitive to bury everything.
The Northeast is one big ledge.

Considering the tornado was on her road, she never lost power. Pretty amazing in her area which is semi-rural.
Lots of broken poles that way is what I heard at work today, and that will take time.

    Lucky. Wow.

Poles broken up about 10-15 feet above the ground you mean?

I worked many storms when I was a lineman and I often saw trees come down mid section and break poles on either side.
Sometimes due to the shock of a hit, a broken pole can be a couple poles away from the action.

Something very similar to this happened a few years ago in the Springfield/Monson area. @tacobell007 Do you recall that?

Nuno keep up the faith. I can understand what you're going through , when I worked at the phone company we had to do restoration work for the phone lines when the tornado went through Waterbury , that would have probably been in the early 90s ,assume every wire is live .good luck your friends are with you.
As bad as it is there are people that got hit worse that you did.

I remember that happening. Can't believe that was already 7 years ago.

Yeah, doesn't feel that long ago.
Was a similar feel too. Came through here, I remember and then whacked the valley.
