Maybe an inch or so. They had to start up and power out of it. A line guy blew some fuses on the Lektro trying to pull it out. I have no idea why they wouldn't have used the diesel tractor we have for towing airplanes, unless we have no G-IV bar and head. Come to think of it, I've never seen one there...

I have flown into KTVL on charters in Citation jets and for fun in light piston airplanes many times. I even used to take students up there for fun when they finished their multi-commercial certificates for a congratulatory lunch. It is one of my favorite airports to fly into.

What kind of plane are you looking to charter? It can be rather expensive.

Hey there! After some research I've found that it is really expensive compared to flying into San Francisco or Reno. I was just looking for a one way for myself so I can visit family before they go back home and always thought it would be neat to fly into Tahoe. Prices looked to be $500-$1000+ (maybe I was looking at the wrong thing) but compared to a $37 flight from Long Beach to San Francisco I don't think I have any other choice in the matter.

Southwest flies into Reno so that is probably your closet airline option. Charting into KTVL would be several thousand dollars, depending on the type of plane of course.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll just do that then haha! Always thought it would be neat to fly into either Lake Tahoe or Catalina Island type of airport. Glad I asked and I appreciate the replies

Island flying must be so fun.

My plane is in annual and so far the only expensive things are a Corrosion X treatment and 4 new engine mounts. :fingerscrossed: for nothing else

Also, I signed up to get my multi add-on in a Twin Comanche. It's got an Aspen and a 530W, so that should be fun. I registered for a 2 week balls-to-the-wall CFI class in July as well. Gonna be a busy summer for me!

Nice! Is the R44 turbine or piston?

Oh, okay I’ve never looked at one closely so I’m not sure how the engine cowlings are designed

Yeah it is a freshly overhauled R44 raven 2. Incase you wanted to look it up. Its a different beast when flying at 1900 msl vs 6000msl. It has a giant squirrel cage blower on the back end.
