What is the difference between AAL and 3 leaf AAL? What's the advantage or disadvantage between the two? I am considering lifting my truck and don't know which one to choose.

Considering 5100's, 887 coil, 1/4" spacer, and (either AAL or 3 leaf AAL)...Looking to get as close to 3" of lift.

    Thanks guys!!

    oh and here she is.....

AAL adds a single leaf to your stock pack
3 AAL adds a small pack of 3 leaves.

The only experience I have with AAL is when I ran 5100s and a single Deaver AAL in the rear. Brought me level at about 3" on my old prerunner. If you still want a bit of rake (looks) or load carrying capacity (function), get the 3 AAL. FWIW, the 3 AAL without weight in the bed will ride a bit stiff.

Please remove the word "help!" from your thread title. How about "Leaf suggestions" or "AAL questions"?

I run the icon 3 leaf and took my overload spring out. I find it rides way nicer than stock its not super stiff, gave me like 1.5-2 inches

My experience was opposite. The single AAL was much stiffer and rode pretty bad empty but carried heavy loads better. The 3 leaf with the overload left in rode far smoother, flexed better off-road but wouldn’t support a heavy load as well.

Like I mentioned, I had only experienced the single leaf. I surmised from other posts that the 3 AAL would be stiffer since people mentioned it helped with weight. Thanks for correcting me.

Did you guys replace your stock bump stops when lifting? If anything, I would be hauling more weight than off roading.

I am leaning towards the single AAL. I'd prefer the truck to look/ride level with the lift I am considering.

Any leaf configuration for achieving 6" of lift? Or are blocks to only way?
