Hada bird (parakeet) show up @ work today. Just flew up to me and started hanging out. It was someone's pet. No one else could catch it, but it flew right to me and landed on my hand. I took it inside, found a small bird cage we use for weddings (drop box for envelopes with cash gifts)and gave it water and some apple slices. It ate and went to sleep. We postedto a facebook lost animal page. 20 minutes later, a woman called from a part of town more than 20 miles away. It was hers. She came right over. She was crying her eyes out when she saw her baby! It's name is John Macenroe. The bird flew straight to her. We all let out a collective Awwwww!. Felt really good to reunite owner and bird.

So, Austinites, MsWalla and son want to head to the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Is this a can't miss kinda deal and should I go as well?

Yeah, it's like things here...I usually only go when there's guests from out of town.

If you like overwhelming sized crowds and expensive beer, YES!

That being said, it is really fun. I've gone probably 10 times and enjoy it a lot.

It gets to be a little much over the years but it's a must do if only once and I'd recommend being there with your wife.

That’s how I ended up at South by Southwest, out of town friends got me to go, it was fun.

 

Thanks guys! Now to look for a hotel...please pipe up if you have suggestions. I know, it's probably the same for you as for me...I never stay in a hotel in the town I live in.

Downtown is going to be PACKED but probably the most logical place to stay.

Unless you want to go to stay out by the lake or something.
