The military provenance is the only selling point in my eyes. You can get a much better 1911 for that price.

I wouldn't touch them either. I'd want it to be just like it was. It'd honestly be more of a show piece than anything. It'd be a cool piece of history. I'd tell myself that it was Patton's

Decent choice. Hopefully you will end up with a line combat platoon not in a clinic or hospital. None of the 68W’s I’ve known over the years have ever been happy or enjoyed their job when not in a line platoon.

Gotcha, spent 3 years at Rich and traveled up there a couple times for the MP Ball. Some of the best camping I've done was up that way.
