I am not far from where the radio station I listen to broadcasts from. Just got the truck a week ago. The channel goes in and out while I drive around. I've seen a few other threads about poor fm reception, and one mentioning a thread about the antenna getting damaged while being installed but I can't find it. Anyone have any clue what's going on?

The XM isn't that good either. My last vehicle I could make it through a tunnel I commute through without XM going out, this one goes out the second I get near it.

Might be hd radio stupidness. The hd radio feature does cut out every now and again on almost every hd car radio that I've experienced

Good call, could be HD radio flipping in and out.

I've turned off HD and it still does it. I have recorded a short video of it acting up. I will post it later

I SOLVED the problems with my XM Radio Reception!

After 13 months of working with SiriusXM tech support to improve the reception in my area (New England - some may have heard there are users up here)...I was able to completely solve my reception problems today....I will miss some of the programming and convenience, but getting my money back and not having to call them again is a much bigger benefit.

I canceled my service, I recommend you do the same if you were as foolish as me to sign up, and I recommend you recommend to others the service is terrible.

I am not one to "slam" organizations, their customer support and tech teams are trained well and if this was my only option the price point is just a little high...but since I can't actually listen to a whole song or talk report without dropouts and they can't/won't fix the issue (how about a satellite repeater??? they've been around for, well 50+ years).

Please join me in boycotting SiriusXM on Tacoma. Now if I can only figure out how to delete the icon from the screen and the mode switch sequence.
    Thanks!

Why would I do that? I can listen, uninterrupted, to full football or basketball games on XM. I can listen to Lithium or any other channel for hours while driving. Yes, when I go through a tunnel (duh) my signal goes away. Yes, If I am driving alongside a steep mountain while driving in an eastern direction my XM signal goes away. Why, BECAUSE THE MOUNTAIN IS BLOCKING THE SIGNAL lol. At most, it lasts 10-15 minutes and I am back receiving again. So, no, I won't boycott lol.

i can't drop XM, it plays way to good for me here in the south...radio reception is horrible but i'll gladly pay for something that never skips or cuts out for me, plus they have way better music in my opinion than the radio... hopefully everyone can find a fix that suits their needs

This is why I said New England...we are north and out of the equatorial range now they use the single planet model. I agree the concept is great, but in my 50 mile radius of regular travel I've document more then 200 drop out zones and was told "we may not be fixing your area". So for me its a non starter.

Around town I don't even turn it on but I go on lots of 4-5 hour trips. Perfect for that.

I’ve found local radio stations get bad reception in my truck too. I thought it was something to do with coming from a regular antenna to the shark fin. You can turn the hd off? Im going to try that

Interested also....FM is the shits here.....everything is "marginal" in Taco, but Corolla gets killer reception.
I think we need a new FM aerial....

My XM reception cuts out quite a bit, stock antenna.

Rarely had this problem in the Forester we just traded, and we had the antenna beat to hell from it hitting the garage door constantly
