    Hmm old ass din connector, glass, metal annode. It's either some radio garbage or a sacrificial annode for something.

    Haha luckily!! Nope! Not critical thank god. Not worth more then the boat. I’ll probably toss it out if I don’t make it into a hat. Sacrificial anode was a good guess, but I don’t have any metal under the water line requiring an anode

    eh he just needs a cbi bumper on there and problem solved haha

    Yeah the 4runners are very different, more of a luxury vehicle for toyota vs the tacoma.

    Who has done their lower ball joints? I just replaced my passenger CV today and noticed that the ball joints could use some attention.
    I have seen people on here just go for new lca. Based on your experience is it worth the effort or do I just go the new lca route.

    Lower ball joints are pretty easy to replace. I replaced mine last week. Took less than an hour per side. I wouldn’t replace the lower control arm unless something is wrong with it.

    If you drive a second gen or first make sure you
    Go OEM on the ball joknts. 2nd gen is a whole new arm and usually lower cam bolts. 1st gen is just a lbj

    I didn’t know 2nd gens were such a pain. All the more reason to own a 1st gen.

    if youre a 1st gen just get OEM LBJs. DON'T GET PART STORE ONES.

    You can either buy or rent a large Pitman puller to pop off the tie rod and LBJ easily without damaging any boots. Depending on how many times you've done it and how good you are with a wrench, should be able to do both in under 2 hours easily.

    Get new bolts too as reusing the bolts is not a good idea.

    Should have mentioned second gen. I wish I had my old first gen but some people just think stop signs are optional.
    Seems like oem is the consensus I will get those. (Was going for a zerk fitting but oem is fine)
