    Best advice is to remove the front window tint (rears don't matter on a truck in NC) and redo it once the inspection is completed.

    This is sound advice! Tint law is 35%+/-3% on all passenger windows on a car. Trucks and SUVs only the front 2 have to follow this, SUV consideration is what the vehicle is registered as most of the crossovers are registered as sedans (or where when I was an inspector). The windshield is either the ASA line or 4"(don't quote me on the measurement I am going off memory) this is for all vehicles.
