Ok so I looked it up, the chain measure came about when building railroad bridges. The Chinese spoke very bad English, so they gave them distances in links of a chain. They made 1 chain equal to 100 links. So if they were building a bridge 340 ft long, the foreman could divide by 66, which is 5.1, and the bridge was 510 links of a chain long, which the chinese could understand.

 

Got 3 packages supposed to be delivered today so stoked!!! I feel like a little kid on x-mas eve.

Kids are not being taught survival skills anymore. It seems to be a thing of the past.

 

I work with the grand kids on all this and there mom thinks I am some kind of doomsday prepper.

 

guess it is more important to teach kids which politician "plays for the home team" and how great socialism is instead of how to cook and balance a check book.......
