I’ve had 6112s on my truck for a few months now. I’d say a 3-4 weeks in I started hearing a loud clunk or bang when the wheel is turned to the right and you hit any slight bump or hill, even just slowly turning around in the driveway. Now the sound is intermittent and only happens at slower speeds when turning around etc.

The shocks are set on the 4th notch, I’ve got Camburg BJ UCAs, new LCA (aftermarket).

Any ideas? I thought maybe coilbind or would that bushing in the front diff make that noise? It drives me insane. Everything is tight and nothing moves when I push and pull on everything.

    Thanks guys.

Anybody running these at the lower settings?
Pics and stats of 3/2 or 4/3 on a 3rd gen would be greatly appreciated.

To tell you the truth I never measured it. It sits at the same level that I had when I had OME 886's installed so I'm assuming around 2.5". I have an aluminum bumper with a winch, and a single ARB compressor under the hood.

    Everything TW members recommend
I just lowered my spring perch to 4th notch from fifth. It’s now about 2.6” lift. Now it sits relatively level with the rear with a moderate rear load (cap + 200 lbs or so.) It used to be nose high at fifth notch.

FWIW - I sent an email to Bilstein Customer Service asking about the availability of the 6112 coilovers (PN 47-241627). Here is their response:

    Hello,

Our internal ETA is July-August. However this does not reflect the inventory or ETA’s of our dealers. Please continue to communicate with your dealer regarding their ETA on this item.

Did a solid test of the 6112/5160's yesterday. Went up Maple Springs road to Santiago Peak. The road is much rougher (in sections) than I remember. The gate has been closed for years since the Silverado Cyn fire, but is open now. All OC CA members get up there while you can. Anyway I didn't have a lot of time so I bombed about 3/4 of the way to the top and stopped to take in the sights and a few pics and turned around. Went down about as fast as I could safely go pounding the suspension. Never saw another vehicle. When I got back to the pavement the shocks were hot, but never wavered. Neither did the truck, but I was hearing some metal banging but it was the recovery shackles I have stashed in the cubby, now I have rags around them. So about an hour straight of pounding on them. Would've help a lot to air down but I didn't have the time to do so. Here's a few pics - not showing the roughness of the road.

Headstrong has added an 8112 set to their lineup. Hopefully the 6112 isnt far behind.

I just got off the phone with them, they'll let you buy them but they don't have a ship date.

I had 6112's on order for 2-3 months before giving up and getting 5100's/5160's instead. Got tired of seeing the ETA be pushed back month after month. From my experience, all major, national distributors are waiting on Bilstein. I'm sure the 6112's are a better setup in every way but TBH I don't "need" the extra performance and got tired of waiting. Plus, if down the road I decide to go to a higher end coilover, it will sting a little less. Put the cost difference toward some Demello round tube sliders.
