Wow the bottle jack goes that high? I’ve never noticed.

 

Mine doesn't change tire direction every rotation - takes 2 rotations to do that; which I figure is fine for me. Also, makes my rotation more "standard" which is good in case someone else ever does one. Curious to see yours though; because the reasoning sounds good, at least conceptually.

 

New spare to replace the 20 year old dealer one. Got those sick 5” rims!

 

Those tires almost look like maxxis trepador

... but for $800 I'll take my chances with the hi-lift.

I give it 6 months until they're selling them to every instagram-lander, with custom locking mounts for an additonal $200, to mount on their EAF roof rack or bumper.

 

My brain has obviously given up for the day. This is why I make pretty pictures, so I don’t screw it up every time!

No denying it looks handy and much safer to use. Also makes me wonder why no one else has done it..just a big tall hydraulic jack..

WD-40 is just what I keep in the truck, I try to spray it down with a better lubricant like triflow or boseshield before a trip. I have also heard of using a couple drops of gear oil as it sticks around longer.

I've never had to lube my hi lift. Has always worked well. Oiling it will just attract dirt to it anyways. Which is probably why you need to clean it every time now.

I watched that video and thought the same thing. I bet I will see them on rigs in socal in the near future

 

Not saying it was safe but I swapped out a CV axle on a snowy trail once using just my Hi-Lift....worked fine. Kept the tire under the frame of course just in case but still.

Keep your Hi-Lift oiled before every use and it shouldn't drop on you. Also, that wider base plate is a good investment for on the trail.

 

Yeah over the long term it’s not really gonna save any money, but if I’m going to have a full size spare I might as well use it, then my lockers and everything work exactly as I want them to without having to work around an off-size spare. Also if I want to change tire type or size when I’m done with these, I’m not stuck with one random extra tire.

Gotta quit running those KO2’s if you want to avoid getting flats

for real though, I've had 2 sets of them and beat the piss out of both...they looked like hell when getting rid of them but never once had a flat, puncture, etc. They're ridiculously stiff tires on the street though.

 

Even better, they’re NoNames™️ ! Made of the finest Chinesium Harbor Freight had to offer.

One of the valve stems on my secondary junkyard cart broke. It was cheaper to buy a whole new tire and hub than to buy just the inner tube. God bless capitalism.

 

i finally got my truck back yay. now i can go back to modding it. LT or SC or new diffs with lockers lol

 

Yeah I’m not about the E rated tires. My MTRs are D’s, and I wish they were C’s
