I just want you to drive your truck. No matter what size it is. I'd have lost my shot a long time ago if I was in your shoes.

Has anyone had any dealings with Smokey Mountain truck outfitters in Lexington? I'm looking for a cover for my new truck and thought about checking them out.

Only their commercias. Their website shows 4.5 stars out of 5 with 88 reviews. But that could have been the owner's family rating them for all I know.

Aren't they the ones that claim they'll beat any local and internet price on product and service?

That's more than you can say about Trail Blazers or Truck Add-Ons....or whatever they're called now. Not a fuck was ever given by those incompetent shit heads.

I hated that place. They never backed their products and offered little to no customer support. And their website looked like it was designed by a 5 year old.

How in the AF does Lexington get all these shops and Louisville FINALLY just got a 4WPs...? Moab off road doesn't count unless you havea built to death Jeep. Louisville 4WD went out of business years ago... All I ask is a shop that (at least) acknowledges Toyota's. exist.

Non-existent in memfrica too. For every modded toyota there is about 372 lifted heeps or full size hogs.

Total toyotas that i know of are about less than 20 or so (includes myself and other memphis guys on tw).

Got my lift installed there! I’m happy with it and haven’t had any problems. I had my parts already and scheduled for a week and a half from when I went to get install quote and they let me leave all my parts there so I wouldn’t have to bring them back. Was worried about it but didn’t end up having any problems!

Louisville and surrounding area is full of modded Tacomas. Our small town, just outside "Metro Louisville", has several dozen pretty hot Tacomas in a town of just over 10k. There is a market here for a Toyota shop.

Oh, if I wasn't so old and broken down...

At least you folks have some kind of an offroad shop period! Ain't nothing here!

If there was, it'd be full of Heeps and diesel full size fat girls.
Maybe I'll quit IT and open a shop. Toyota's only.

Yeah...they were just awful. Many years ago when I was into VWs, I had a '72 Baja that I wanted a certain size tach for. Western Auto and Natiowise (yes, it was a long time ago :D) didn't have it and this was before the internet. So I stopped into Trail Blazers and they had the one that I wanted. Unfortunately they were asking a shit-ton of money for it.

So I politely asked if there was any wiggle room on the price. The guy looked at me like I had a dick growing out of my forehead. He said..."that's the price". I asked to speak to the manager to see if maybe he would work with me a bit. The counter guy seemed completely annoyed by that but went and got him.

I asked the manager if he could knock off a few bucks. He said.."where else are you going to find that tach?". I said..."just can't spend that much on it". He said..."well, looks like you won't be buying a tach then" and walked away.

Had friends with terrible experiences there with shitty tint jobs and piss poor product installs.

Sean at Precision Tinting (who's done all my tint jobs over the yeas) told me once that he usually had at least 1 or 2 tint jobs a week that were to correct a Trail Blazer hack job.

Back in the mid '70's, Louisville had "Louisville 4WD" and just north, in Indiana, we had "Hill's 4WD" (Up yours at Hills 4WD) They were full service shops that were staffed by real off roaders. They organized trail rides, let clubs hold meetings in their shops, and would work with us on prices.

    No longer in business....

Lesson to be learned...They were extremely successful.....Made much money. Retired young and moved to Florida
