I purchased a Big Green Egg in 2000. At the time, I had planned to spend about $1000 on a Ducane stainless gas grill. My local grill shop had a BGE going with some food samples and I easily forgot the Ducane. I spent about $400 on the BGE.

I gave my BGE to a friend last year. I had replaced the firebox, which had cracked after 17 years, and got the cast iron grate to replace the old stainless version. The exterior was in almost perfect condition, despite being kept outside without a cover for over 15 years.

Point being, while the BGE is very pricey now, it will last a lifetime as everything is replaceable (other than the exterior).

Nice MPG. Been wondering how good it gets on the highway. Is that basically all highway? I do mainly backroads and have been struggling even to hit 20.

Added side steps tonight. My 4 year old can finally get in by himself. I normally hate chrome/stainless materials on any vehicle, but felt these looked better than powdered black with my color. I like how they compliment each other.20180517_201144.jpg 20180517_184824.jpg 20180517_184834.jpg These things were cheap as hell on Amazon @ $200 but they get really good reviews. We'll see how the finish holds up.

This is mainly highway, although I have been off this week and the city with stop lights have taken me down.

Finally got around to getting a Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator to correct my speedometer with my 285s! Ordered it off of Amazon 2 days ago and it showed up this afternoon! Took me about 2 minutes to program it with the software on the computer and a total of 10 minutes to do the install! We'll worth the money! Also got to finally see the Taco Truck behind the dash!
